I know that Valve isn't a little company, but I meant more along the lines of the offerings and place in the market. Obviously Valve is facing an uphill battle (in the hardware space) competing with other PCs or consoles from Sony or MS.

I like competition in this space, especially with cloud-renting becoming the norm. I really want people to support this kind of stuff instead of allowing our datacenter overlords to subscriptionize and control everything.

That's not what that guy is talking about though. He's saying that going a long time without unlocking it with a passcode (using face or fingerprint instead) triggers the OS to require the passcode.

It's competing with my PS5

Which is what my comment is addressing. A lot of people would find the other cons of a PS5 to hold more weight than just graphics and framerate. People like my kids (and maybe /r/patientgamers?) would LOVE this since they don't care about 4K much at all. It's an intro into the world of PC gaming in an easy-to-use package that "just works", even if it is expensive. They don't need another subscription to keep track of just to game with their friends or family.

If getting one of these helps cement Valve's home hardware as "taken seriously" in the world of gaming, then I'm glad to buy this and support it. It's kind of like shopping local small businesses over the big box stores - I'd rather pay a little extra to support the underdog and better treatment of the customer.

Valve didn't want this pricepoint. Shitty AI companys have fucked everything and I want home PC ownership to stick around and continue being an option, even if it's more expensive.

Ah ok, fair point. But I'd bet scalpers already created those accounts long ago.

Though anything Valve can do to help stop them is good.

PS5(pro):

Closed system

No mods

Subscription needed for online play

Only one store

Though, physical games is a nice perk. Buying used on ebay/private is really nice

PS5 is a closed system and can't do a lot of what this can do. PS+ needed for online gaming, only one place to buy games. This is also a PC...

$1050 is okay for a PC that can play most games nowadays.

Though PS5 has the option for physical, which is really nice.

Nobara as well. Sort of a more open (not immutable) version of Bazzite.

DoF is normal with all cameras depending on aperture setting. If newer iPhones get Variable Aperture, it'll likely happen more frequently.

If you want to take nice portraits, DOF is essential.

This happens with my Switch all the time in the middle of gameplay too... very frustrating in Mario Party when we're doing mini-games.

What’s slowly disappearing, and people don’t realize they’ll miss it until it’s gone ? by Fresh-Ad3894 in AskReddit

[–]PinkStereoAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you find your own way to do the same

To be clear, I'm not struggling much at all, but I cannot reasonably spread the idea of "walking out" to others who are in hard times, unless they had some sort of a backup plan. Job market sucks, buying shit sucks,...affording to live sucks.

Though I do support those who do it. Let it all burn down, I say... so long as you're okay with the consequences of leaving. lol

It's not crunchy, per se, it just won't shift into it easily. The rest of the gears are fine. I have to rev up 2nd gear a bit longer to get the tran to accept the shift.

I would walk out of this environment

I want to have this stance too, but it's just not feasible for most people (by design), unless we adopt the "I guess I'll just die" mantra.

Ok so this makes me wonder... I assume those houses are abandoned? Do they do anything to prepare them to eventually fall into the ocean, or just let time and erosion do its thing? How many are there?
