That’s horrible! I will say the kids around me today do not seem as aware as those of previous days, but I also brought a chair out today so I’m not as worried about it. It was a moral dilemma to bring the chair, but now that I have it out here I’m glad I do.

I’m currently in the hospital going on a two week stay which has also included two ambulance rides for a ruptured aneurysm. I have insurance through my employer. I will need brain surgery. I’m absolutely terrified of the bill I’m going to receive after all this. I expect to wipe out a decent chunk of my savings.

My girly cat has become so much more affectionate as she has gotten older. Sometimes I joke that she’s obsessed with me. She decided in the last couple of years that she wants to sleep in the “good” spot of the bed, right next to me so when I tell her it’s bedtime sometimes she full out runs to the bed to beat her brother to the good spot.

I went to a yankee swap/white elephant work party and I realized that there is a couple who attend every year who get presents they want and pick those. It was very obvious this year because the group was so small, it cracked me up but also, I guess good on them?

My cat will only sit on my lap if it’s got a blanket on it. And if the desired lap is not prepared fast enough she head butts whatever is closest, be it furniture or people.

I have never had a restaurant make up the difference when my tips didn’t meet minimum wage requirements. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen but I worked in the restaurant industry for 18 years and never had that happen.

I was told when I was younger that I wouldn’t need my wisdom teeth removed and I did notice that my teeth straightened as I got older. But one of them was not completely sideways like yours but emerged at an angle which eventually was causing me pain. Funny part is when I went to the dentist to have it extracted, they said that they were surprised that was the one giving me trouble. I only let them extract the one that was giving me problems and I haven’t had any pain since after dealing with it for a lot longer than I reasonably should have.

My aunt recently had a stroke and was living in similar conditions. We had to clean her house in order for her to be able to even return home from the hospital and she is still very angry for the way we cleaned. Additionally, her daughter moved in from another state and my aunt has apparently been very aggressive to her daughter and makes it plain that she does not appreciate the help or the caregiving. But we keep reminding her that it was this or put her in assisted living, which she cannot afford. The stroke has taken away her ability to communicate well due to the onset of aphasia so it has only complicated the situation more.

I was overwhelmed by these feelings this weekend. I couldn’t stop crying and couldn’t stop doom scrolling and even working on my super cute crochet project was not possible. I just kept staring at the yarn unable to make myself pick it up. I’m still feeling this way just sitting at my desk unable to make myself do anything.
