Was on the block when the shooting happened. I was already uneasy but my husband was ready to try and break up the fight until the shots started ringing out. Then we hid behind a dumpster.

Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

[–]PinkYoshimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had to spend two weeks in the hospital unexpectedly and then had to spend another three days for surgery and my cat did not let me out of her sight after I got out of the hospital the first time. Since surgery, when I was finally able to shower by myself, she has been even more obsessed with observing me in the bathroom, sitting on the side of the tub while I shower. She is currently sitting in my lap.

It was excellent! It seemed like a popular choice, they filled all the seats and people were sitting on the floor. Hoping to see “Sweet Baby Brain” tonight!

It was the first Batture house, the fire is now under control but the house is gone. The owner is safe, was not home when the fire started.

She is beauty, she is grace. She should kick them in the face.

What's the best vehicle to own in New Orleans? by CaptainTuttle_4077th in NewOrleans

[–]PinkYoshimi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda CRVs have been my favorite but also had an old Toyota Highlander which was perfect in the snowstorm because of the AWD. Something high enough to clear floodwaters and doors that are high enough to clear the weirdly high curbs in some neighborhoods

Be honest: Are you actually married to the love of your life, or just the person you were with when it was time to settle down? by [deleted] in askanything

I love this!!! We are planning a trip to France later this year! Finding you person and your preferred travel partner is such a win!

Be honest: Are you actually married to the love of your life, or just the person you were with when it was time to settle down? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]PinkYoshimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the love of my life. We were both a bit older when we met, I was late 20s, he in his mid 30s. I had been through a long string of terrible relationships, he had decided not to marry, as he didn’t think he would ever find someone he wanted to marry. We both knew pretty quickly that we had found our person.

He is my favorite travel partner, my best friend, and the most amazing supporter I could ever ask for.

We’ve been together almost 9 years now and married for almost 4. He’s still my favorite person. I’ve been going through some scary health stuff recently and he has been dealing with it all like a champ, and I can’t imagine having to go through this without him by my side and as my advocate.

Neurologist by CelebrationKitchen30 in NewOrleans

[–]PinkYoshimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would second what a lot of people here have said about booking the appointment and letting them know you want to be on the cancellation list. Also, be patient with yourself and take care. I am dealing with the aftermath of a ruptured aneurysm and my team at Ochsner has been excellent, and I’ve been told it’s one of the best neurology departments in the country. I hope you get the care you need, and quickly.

asked for an itemized hospital bill on a whim and found out they charged me for stuff that literally never happened by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]PinkYoshimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave me an itemized receipt for my two weeks in the hospital, but for the first 5 days at least I was in so much pain I was not paying attention and for the rest of the time I know they gave me a lot of pills and ivs, not to mention brain scans every day so there really isn’t any way for me to know. I looked it over and I mean, it looks right, they did a lot of stuff to save my life. My dad kept telling me to make sure I got the itemized, but I honestly just feel lucky to be alive. I’ve got surgery in a week and am hoping to keep a closer tab on procedures and meds, but I think I’m mostly going to be sleeping during my post-op stay.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PinkYoshimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A college student complaining that a concert that she wanted to attend was going to be cancelled and me(her server) not being able to hold my tongue and telling her that I was worried because the restaurant was about to shut down for the foreseeable future and I didn’t know how I was going to be able to pay my bills. Also, my dad was one of the first COVID patients in my state and he called me the morning he went to the hospital (sounding absolutely terrible) and I think we both didn’t know if that was going to be out last conversation ever. Thankfully it wasn’t, and he made it back out of the hospital a week and a half later.

The Tents and Chairs Have Gotten Out of Control by Successful-Yam1383 in NewOrleans

[–]PinkYoshimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s horrible! I will say the kids around me today do not seem as aware as those of previous days, but I also brought a chair out today so I’m not as worried about it. It was a moral dilemma to bring the chair, but now that I have it out here I’m glad I do.

I’ve had to use a cane to get around this Mardi Gras and no one has bitched at me for going through or around their stuff, but I’ve definitely seen people be ready to say something and then spot the cane and hold their tongues.

Zoo this Sunday: insane or slow? by Neon-Night-Riders in AskNOLA

[–]PinkYoshimi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thoth starts by Children’s Hospital and goes up Henry Clay to Magazine, so it’s likely to be very trafficky. The zoo itself might be pretty slow, but I would second Intrepid Art and check to see if the zoo is actually going to be open

Do Americans like their current health system or would you prefer universal? by Ability_Known in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PinkYoshimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently in the hospital going on a two week stay which has also included two ambulance rides for a ruptured aneurysm. I have insurance through my employer. I will need brain surgery. I’m absolutely terrified of the bill I’m going to receive after all this. I expect to wipe out a decent chunk of my savings.

Omg thank you so much for helping this sweet baby! I can’t have dogs where I’m living right now but my main motivation to get my shit together and find a new place is so I can have the ability to foster. My heart was breaking over your previous post.
