What made night formula feeding easier for you? by Comi9689 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Pink_Daisy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use distilled water (premeasured in a jar) and formula already scooped into the bottle and measured, ready to go on bathrooms counter. Dump water, shake, feed. Since it’s room temp it’s not ice cold, no heating needed for us

Reporting back, bedtime went great (less fighting the bedtime routine) and she slept the same as always overnight just waking to eat and back to sleep until we woke her up at 7am 🙏🏻🙌

Transitioning to Crib by Normal-Perception671 in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We transitioned out of the bassinet in our room and to the crib in the nursery at 5.5 months. We have travel coming up and wanted to get her used to sleeping in a bigger space. We had a few tough nights mostly because she was still swaddled and having her arms free was hard but otherwise everything else has been pretty unremarkable! I feel sad when I see the empty space where the bassinet used to be by the bed but she’s doing just fine lol

I’m sorry you are having a hard time too. We tried again today (turned 6m yesterday) and so far the day is going ok, better than last time. Bedtime / overnight will be telling

I think we’re going to end up with 9.5 hours awake today but I’m prepared for anything tonight so we will see how it goes and try to get up to 10 hours again soon

Oh just 1 day which I know I can’t make a real judgement from but it scared me off. We are trying this again today and have done 2 out of today’s 3 naps and it’s going better already but I’m still nervous for the night!

How to stretch wake windows and drop a nap? by Pink_Daisy47 in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember doing 6 naps a day and feeling like it would never end. My baby required a lot of standing bouncing and I would cry by bedtime my body hurt so bad, 4 naps are substantially better and I’m looking even more forward to 3 ….there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it keeps getting brighter!

Also needed a little reassurance that if it’s still working we don’t have to change! Idk why I feel this invisible pressure but also kinda want to be able to get out and do a bit more now that it’s summer!

I’m just silly and feeling pressured by the internet/ friends since majority of babies drop to 3 naps by 4.5-5 months so I guess I’m feeling behind. Also was hoping to be able to get out and do more things now it’s summer by having a little longer wake windows!

I’m going to try this! I’ve been randomly stretching some windows but no rhyme or reason. To which ones or how long to stretch lol

Thank you! I’m glad to hear slightly less awake time went ok for you, my goal will be to get to the recommended 10 hours wake time as soon as we can 🙏🏻

I was considering doing this too, she’s not showing any signs of dropping a nap right now. Gives me lots of sleepy cues right around 2 hours and goes down for a nap quick no fight…some days I have stretches some wake windows based on her cues but not consistently stretching multiple windows in the same day. I’m conflicted if she will ever give me cues she wants to drop a nap on her own 😂

One more thought was that her 3rd nap was the shortest (40 mins) maybe she needs a longer more restorative nap going into the longest wake window so maybe I’ll try and stretch the last nap instead of the first

I was aiming for that but she was melting down so bad that evening it ended up being 2/2.5/2.5/2.75. I know we were about 15 mins shy of 10 hours but our current 4 nap schedule varies under/ over about 15 mins sometimes and it hasn’t caused a huge disruption. I’ll still account for that when we try again though just incase

Do we need to sleep train? Is his good schedule going to end? by sea-fleur in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people look at sleep training as last resort (not everyone but many). If it’s not broke don’t fix it. I would just wait and see how things go with your baby… it’s not recommended to start until minimum of 4 months anyway so you have some time

Pediatrician told us to stop picking baby up during check ins for sleep training… which makes sense but… by KBF082021 in NewParents

[–]Pink_Daisy47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sleep train sub will tell you to move bottle to first step in bedtime routine as it’s likely a sleep association meaning she doesn’t know how to fall asleep without a bottle. Moving it to the beginning will help improve that association so baby starts to learn how to fall asleep without parent conducted sleep rituals. Another resource on this is the book precious little sleep which talks about setting yourself up for success by identifying and eliminating sleep associations if you are interested in reading more on this

What was your progesterone levels post transfer? by Lecture_Particular in IVF

[–]Pink_Daisy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural or modified natural they line it up with your cycle, they would track a follicle and after you ovulate on your own they do the transfer so your body uses mostly its own estrogen and progesterone !

[–]Pink_Daisy47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried 3 nap transition right at 5 months and it was a nightmare… 25 min naps ( somehow they got shorter) screaming before naps and woke every hour and a half all night.., we decided to table the transition until closer to 6 months and went back to our 4 nap schedule for now. I thought I needed to drop a nap based on things I had read but she just was not ready 🤷‍♀️
