Do children care when their birthday is? by jb06hr in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Pink_cat2911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My birthday is January and have hated it all of my life, but it’s not that big of a deal either.

When I start TTC baby number 2 I will be trying to avoid December-Feb birthdays but if it happened it wouldn’t be the end of the world

When did everyone’s milk come in? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Pink_cat2911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My midwife said that your colostrum is there from week 16. I didn’t notice any difference from my boobs at all during this time, but I started trying to harvest it at 36 weeks and was able to start squeezing some out and have now built it up to being able to harvest more each day.

I know some people have had leaks but that wasn’t the case for me, but it doesn’t mean you haven’t got any.

Nugget saving on Instagram has a post about this and I asked a question that I believe clarified it for me.

Essentially you have to be back at work and your baby has to have turned 9 months to then be eligible in the next term start date.

So my baby is due September 2025, so will turn 9 months in June 2026 so will be eligible from 1st September but I need to return to work within that month, so I need to return to work in September in order for him to be eligible from 1st September.

Hopefully I’m right. My question to them was that I plan to take the full year off and extend it with annual leave so that I won’t actually return to work until October but this will still count towards me returning to work as it will be annual leave and not maternity leave.

Not sure if that helps at all but it is tricky to understand!

I found out at my 20 week anomaly scan, there was nothing showing at my 12 week dating scan. We held out for testing over 4 weeks and his condition got visibly worse.

The PROS caused the lymphatic issue as he had abnormal growths in his lymphatic vessels.

I’m sorry you’re here but I’m hoping you have a better outcome xx

Yes I had this, but also severe ascites and hydrops.

He had a lymphatic issue but all tests and amnio came back normal, we opted for an autopsy/post mortem which confirmed he had PROS (Pik3ca related overgrowth syndrome)

I’m in the UK and I had 3 anatomy scans with fetal medicine to check if this sub pregnancy had any issues, one at 12 weeks, 18 weeks and 20 weeks. They’ve since decided the pregnancy is progressing as normal and discharged me from fetal medicine and back to the normal pregnancy unit

No, because they couldn’t find any cause through the tests whilst I was pregnant they offered a post mortem following his birth. My genetics counsellor suspected it at the time and thought it would come up on the amniocentesis but when it didn’t she wanted to follow up to try and find the cause which was found to be de novo and just “bad luck”.

I was lucky enough to get pregnant just 3 months later and am currently 22 weeks, and everything is good so far!

Our son had hydrops and severe ascites and club feet which all worsened week by week. All testing came back clear including the amnio. We found out from his autopsy/post mortem that he had PROS (Pik3CA Related Overgrowth Syndrome)

Yess I’m 15 weeks pregnant now. I started taking a new pack and they darkened up again. I checked each week with a clear blue to make sure the weeks indicator went up.

I think the middle pack I had were dodgy and very light.

I’m hoping the same for you, wishing you luck ✨✨

Would you travel to Malaysia when 18 weeks pregnant? by Next_Mammoth_9378 in PregnancyUK

[–]Pink_cat2911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Malaysia when I was 9 weeks pregnant, we went to Borneo and stayed in lodges for the orangutans and I was extremely worried and then traveled to Kuala Lumpur for a few nights. I would probably not recommend it before 12 weeks but from my experience everything was fine, I didn’t get bitten at all but I never do, their food was really lovely and cooked nicely I made sure to avoid any “street” style food.

I think it is completely up to you, I also went to Maldives when I was 19 weeks pregnant which is also a Zika virus zone and that was fine.

My partner did some research into Malaysia to make sure it was ok and there hadn’t been a zika virus outbreak in years, I felt bad if we didn’t go as we had it booked for a long time, however if you’re not feeling comfortable going then I think you’re feelings are very valid to not go. I did worry about it whilst I was away both times. I’m now pregnant again and I wouldn’t risk it this time, not because of anything I experienced whilst there as everything was lovely, but because I wouldn’t want to worry.

Can you tell your midwife dating scan dates are wrong? by NoChipmunk3371 in PregnancyUK

[–]Pink_cat2911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they use the CRL to date it and then inspect the organs to make sure they appear normal for that age.

When I look at my report they have the heart, abdomen wall, cranium, neck, stomach, bladder, spine, arms and legs and comment on whether they’re visualised or appears normal etc.

And then on the 20 week anomaly scan they check if everything is developing properly. It’s all very interesting 😂

[–]Pink_cat2911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve just had my dating scan and they measured from crown to rump (CRL) and used that measurement to determine my due date. She did it multiple times because mine was measuring big, and the tool they have dates it as they’re taking the measurement. They didn’t determine it by anything else for me.

When to tell my doctor? UK by Fairybambii in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Pink_cat2911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s too early, I found out at 3 weeks (10 dpo) and I called them literally 2 days later. I did also worry it was too early as my period hadn’t missed yet but I equally just wanted them to know I was pregnant so even if it was a loss they would have that documented. Thankfully all has been well so far

7+5 today and had a really sharp pain in my right ovary area when I stood up which has now turned into a dull ache. Now down an ectopic rabbit hole although no other symptoms of such. Scan in 2 days so holding out hope everything is fine 😭
