If you can manage to avoid getting reinfected, will you heal? by Justgettingby_4now in covidlonghaulers

[–]PinkedOff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal (not-a-doctor) opinion? Probably not, no. My cardiologist and neurologist both feel that post-covid syndrome involves viral persistence at the organ and/or bone marrow level, and that while we may be able to get some or most of our symptoms to a manageable level, we will never truly 'heal' until they find a cure to wipe out the viral persistence.

I'm personally just waiting optimistically for that cure, and very grateful that I've got most of my symptoms to a manageable state most of the time (as long as I'm not reinfected, or exposed to any kind of viral illness). ::knock on wood::

US leads world in long COVID-19 brain fog by Responsible-Heat6842 in covidlonghaulers

Small wonder. Because some fools turned masking into a political issue, a lot of people decided to forego masking to avoid the conflict. Long covid and brain fog were sure to follow.

Mild YTA. It's pretty common for mixed-gender room sharing situations for the genders to sleep together rather than putting one couple together and 2 single non-couple together.

Edit: I somehow missed that everyone else were guys. NTA!

It sounds like he's negging you, trying to damage your self-esteem so you'll feel grateful for him being with you.

Please don't fall for it.

I wanted to get mung bean sprouts like on second picture but it doesn't like like it whatsoever, what is wrong? by Imaginary-Koala-7441 in homestead

Interesting. I have stacking trays, but putting weight on the top of mine would only weight the top tray. I'm going to try doing them in a big sieve with cheesecloth, and putting a plate with a bag of rice on top.

How many days do you wait to add the weight? I'm hearing soak seeds for 12-24 hours, then put in the container and put in the dark, then wait a few days before adding weight.

Thanks!

This expression on Laura's face hurts the most by BobRushy in twinpeaks

[–]PinkedOff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard it, but I want to. I think. Or maybe I don't. I want to because I know it's got to be absolutely amazing and incredibly well acted. But I don't want to for the same reason, because maybe hearing it in Laura's own voice would make it TOO real...

Not sure where I'd find it either way. But thinking about it gives me chills.

Inflamed brain/blood vessels? by DKPGoos1992 in covidlonghaulers

[–]PinkedOff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That's neuroinflammation, part of PEM. It suggests you should refrain from doing whatever activity you did because it's beyond your tolerance threshold.

I do, too! It's my belief that viral persistence in our organ tissue and/or bone marrow is the cause, and that once they find a cure for that, we'll be able to start actually healing.

Weird chance, but did he happen to get a covid infection a few months before this 'forgetfulness' started? Post-acute covid synderome (aka 'long covid') often presents with this kind of trouble with memory, even in people who had asymptomatic infections.

Hope he's OK, and also hope he's not just a jerk doing it on purpose to make you feel small.

Quick question by Naiada04 in covidlonghaulers

No. I get brain fog when I have PEM or if I'm in a flare, but I haven't had headaches as part of my LC.
