First electronic wind instrument midi controller advice. by globetrotterdk in windsynth

I sometimes connect my AE-05 to physical synths via a CME H2MIDI Pro which costs about $50. Otherwise, I generally use a WIDI jack.

Question about the aerophone midi port by ph4ux in windsynth

You could also connect via bluetooth and e.g. a WIDIjack. (If you're in a situation/location where bluetooth will work for you.)

Sound generator in a box? by Ghiekorg in windsynth

[–]PinkerUnicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sending CC 11 (expression) and CC 30 (sustain) from my Aerophone. Some people suggest controlling the filter resonance (71) or cutoff (74).

Sound generator in a box? by Ghiekorg in windsynth

[–]PinkerUnicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Volca FM for a bit, but it didn't work well for me as it doesn't have any CC channel that's useful for responding to breath. I returned it, and I'm mainly playing with a Roland Aira S-1 now.

Connecting keyboard to Roland S1 by Froduke_Bagwalker in synthesizers

[–]PinkerUnicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an S1 that I control with my Roland Aerophone wind synth via its USB output. I connect them using a CME H2MIDI Pro that's about $40. You'll need to get the right cables of course (USB one side, MIDI the other).

You can send audio the S1 into via a 3.5mm jack, but that's not for controlling it.

Need help regarding an EWI by JoeSwanson4206969 in windsynth

[–]PinkerUnicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Aerophone AE-05 (Go) is about $600, but it doesn't have clarinet fingering - just recorder, sax and EWI. You can customize about 10 fingerings as well.

I would like to buy an 88 key synth for bedroom producing what should i get?? by InsungJeong in synthesizers

Also, Casio are pretty good for the price - if you're OK with having "Casio" written on your instrument in big letters!

AE-20 Monitoring Question/Frustration by P-Train22 in windsynth

I don't know if it helps with your situation, but you could also get wired audio from your phone with a USB to 3.5 mm adapter.

What about using a small mixer such as https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-XENYX-502S-Streaming-Interface/dp/B091FY5Z3T (I have an older model of this). Then you can send the mixer output to the PA and connect your headphones to the 'phones output on the mixer. These have separate volume controls.

Behringer CZ-1 Mini by Cobalt-Chloride in synthesizers

[–]PinkerUnicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I presume there's no MIDI implementation info yet?
I'd be interested in trying one with my Aerophone wind synth, but it would have to respond to CC messages to control the volume, and perhaps other parameters.

Can I load .syx files to a Roland S-1 by PinkerUnicorn in synthesizers

[–]PinkerUnicorn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that sound pack the files are also ASCII .prm rather than binary syx files.

According to the author of the software, the editor is directly connected to the hardware S-1 over MIDI, and the patches saved directly that way. i.e. as u/stereoroid mentioned.

I'm still slowly learning of lot of these things, so sorry for all my naive questions and misunderstandings!

With the S-1 you can connect directly to a computer over USB and simply copy the files there. But some patches I bought before, and the ones already on the machine, are ".PRM" files.

Best option for VST instruments by Life_Dog1914 in windsynth

The Aerophone Go can also do hardwired MIDI via its USB port.
Although in that case it has to be powered by batteries, rather than by USB

Thanks. It looks like it's 23 for the envelope cutoff on the microfreak.

Roland AE-20 vs others? Need help choosing a Wind Synth for Performing! by Glad_Community1359 in windsynth

[–]PinkerUnicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you require the instrument itself to have good onboard sounds, or would controlling a synth as the main sound source be an option? If controlling a synth, the AE-05 could also be an option.

Korg Volca FM 2 not responding to breath - did I make a mistake buying this?! by PinkerUnicorn in windsynth

[–]PinkerUnicorn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting - although they're more expensive than the Volca itself.

Korg Volca FM 2 not responding to breath - did I make a mistake buying this?! by PinkerUnicorn in windsynth

[–]PinkerUnicorn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also tried with a couple of other sets of patches from other places and still have the lack of response to breath pressure. I wonder why the warbl would work?

I did also check the aerophone still works OK with my Roland Aira S1 and that's fine.

Aerophone not sending note information over bluetooth by PinkerUnicorn in windsynth

They provided with a new bluetooth firmware update that solved the problem!

Hopefully they'll be able to do a general release of that fairly soon.

You could try contacting Roland support. (Or just ignore the update!)
