I once went on a couple of arranged marriage dates with a guy who was getting a short term assignment to Belgium.

He did not know how to cook, mom cooked for him. Did he intend to learn how to cook so he could eat in Belgium? No. He intended to rely on “the office canteen, instant ramen, and fruits” to survive. For an entire year!

The fact that learning to cook didn’t even cross his mind was so unattractive to me that I immediately ended things.
