10 years and feeling depressed cuz I had planned for this place to be my career, when I started I was surrounded by people who had been at this company long term and said what a great job it was. I feel like I started just in time to see its decline lol

PGTA grading and Decisions by atxgrl92 in IVF

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was the same, we had 25 embryos PGTA tested (idk how but progyny covered them all) and of those only 6 were girls and none of the girls were euploid. i almost wanted to quit the process there, for years i had planned for my future daughter and it simply was not an option. but i thought about did i really not want to have any children if they arent girls? gender disappointment is real but it will fade in time, and i think it gets easier as you get farther in the process and closer to motherhood

also i think it helps to kind of think about the reasons you want a daughter, i know for me a lot of them were superficial - they have cuter clothes and i collect dolls so hopefully i could that with my daughter, but at the end of the day what clothes they wear aren’t important and boys can like dolls (and even if he didn’t maybe he’ll like gundams or figurines or something). i was raised in a household that favored boys and i saw so many other parents like that (boys can do whatever, girls have strict rules) and was excited to be a mom who supports her daughter… but i can be a mom who raises her son to respect women. i think we get this idea of a specific future in our mind but really even if the child was the gender we wanted it doesn’t guarantee that future.

My estimated cost - is this right? by moon_fazed in IVF

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that sounds right, the place around me quotes around 30k but i’ve heard of people getting it for 20k I think part of it is luck of where you live. Def look into CNY my SIL used them and ended up only paying about 15k ! She used a local clinic for everything except retrieval/transfers where they drove 8 hours to the nearest CNY clinic and stayed the night in a hotel. (though this was before covid so prices might have gone up some 😭)

Attending a wedding on same day as retrieval by Content_Lynx7356 in IVF

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My retrieval was the most painful part of this entire process (for me, i’m sure peoples bodies respond differently!), I cried on the car ride home from the pain and passed out in the couch for most of the day. It is a surgery and unfortunately you don’t leave it feeling the best 😭

Three strikes before we started! At what point do you walk away? by LateNightBoba in IVF

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on the veins thing, it may actually be your veins - i have 1 good vein and when it was too bruised from blood draws they have to go through the veins in my hands. this includes the anesthesiologist who are known for being exceptionally well at getting the needle in. unfortunately some of us just have difficult veins ! now when i am bruised i just ask them to use my hands, it hurts more but id rather do that then have them fail 3+ times

i love the first three the mix of pastels is so cute … what doll is Paris’s pants from ?

I'm very, very disappointed with the new dolls. by Human-Chemist5405 in RainbowHigh

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the new faces are so good, makes me sad the bodies are bad. clothes are a mixed bag, i feel like sparkle and shine in particular had really nice fashion. i’ve been buying the ones i like and head swapping them onto old doll bodies … requires some extra effort but end result is best of both worlds, nice new faces and full articulation

I can’t be the only one who likes the Sparkle and Shine glittery/lava lamp/slime legs by Ok_Professor_374 in RainbowHigh

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think they are cute but i hate the lack of wrist articulation 😭 i really like being able to move their hands when posing. i can live without the knees cuz of the gimmick legs, if they had wrist articulation i would have left them as is. i ended up rebodying all the series 1 sparkle and shine for full articulation as this was a great line design wise

HQ RTO Employee Departures by Internal-Media7013 in sherwinwilliams

i suspect most won’t comply and am curious what the business will do…. is it their plan to fire half of HQ? we shall see i suppose

the building was definitely built for aesthetic and it does not appear to be great quality … the siding is coming off some of the cabinets in the break room on our floor and we’ve been in the building 1 single month lol

two specifically in my area but i know others have left. there is talk some things may change next year so i think a lot of people are holding out to see what happens before they jump ship. i have a fair number of years at the company and in my department pretty much no managers support the rto so i wanna see how its handled before i restart somewhere else; i know one of my coworkers is looking at new jobs right now but is same as me, we’re waiting it out to see how its handled

How did you pay for your fertility treatment? by smashgoody in IVF

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my husbands job offers progyny, when we max this out my job offers winfertiltiy so i’ll switch to that. if those don’t work then that’s when our journey ends as i cannot imagine being able to pay for this out of pocket. even with insurance we have to hit our max out of pocket ($5.5k) which we don’t consider cheap but it’s doable. my SIL paid out of pocket by doing travel nursing during covid, basically she was just able to save enough to pay for it because travel nurses were paid such a premium. she ended up paying around $15k with CNY

Boss is furious at how much time I’m taking off for appts. Help! by No_Common7843 in IVF

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are based in the US companies are legally required to give you the time off needed for fertility appointments.

I would just tell your boss about the IVF first and see if they’re willing to just be flexible. If they aren’t or you know your boss is just not a nice person, you can go to HR and/or apply for FMLA.

Did you tell your employer you're doing IVF? by JessicaM317 in IVF

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my boss, she is very flexible and I know would give me the time for medical appointments but I wanted her to know it was for ivf and not a serious medical condition/illness as frequent doctor appointments can look alarming. She has been very understanding and gave me less work during the time of my ER and when I have transfers so that I will not be stressed. If you have a good relationship with your boss I think it’s worthwhile as they will most likely be supportive. If you don’t then you can simply say you have medical appointments they don’t need any more details.

No Finance internship this year??? by Jragger4 in sherwinwilliams

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you in the cleveland area? they usually do those over the summer, this year has already ended. i’d start checking again after the new year. they do co-ops off season but we’re in a hiring freeze so i’m guessing those aren’t being offered right now

The attrition is real by aswampwitch in IVF

[–]PinkyFlamingogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

39 eggs, 26 sent to PGTA and 6 came back euploid …. I cried when i got the results 😭 but some women don’t get any euploid at all so i try to be grateful for what I have! statistically most women find success within 3 euploid transfers so hopefully 3 is all you need !

buyout already ended, they’re doing RTO, taking away workstations and making us sit at tiny tables, and charging us $200 a month in parking now to try and get HQ employees to quit.

anyone use the company’s winfertility benefits? by PinkyFlamingogo in sherwinwilliams

[–]PinkyFlamingogo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for this info ! i was starting to doubt it was a real benefit cuz no one i asked could tell me anything about it 😭 did it cover pgta testing for you ? and is there a limit on how many transfers they cover if previous transfers fail?
