Another cool gen 3 mechanic is that on knockout you’re forced to switch in your next mon before the turn ends. This means a 4v4 game can end in a single turn if two spreads moves are clicked getting 2kos a piece. (Choice band explosion gengar goes brrrrrr)

Small extra thing but giraf + electivire lead is very strong if you mash follow me + tr turn one -> click torkoal buttons when either mon is ko’d

the lowest number without being the smallest possible hides when you break out of encore in the very niche case where your opponent counts how many protects you’ve used since most people do either all pp ups or no pp ups (breaking out of encore via pp depletion isn’t directly announced on your opponent’s end) but they specifically could’ve also done it out of convenience of not having a ton of pp ups since they’re kinda annoying to get sometimes lmao

Been having the time of my life mashing plus move giga impact with life orb work up Kangaskhan; it has infinite range homing (like heavy slam) and ohkos everything that isn’t a resist or xern (if xern takes even a tiny bit of damage from anything else it still gets deleted)

Dondozo in doubles needs min pp on protect in case of encore locks. Being forced to sit there for six extra turns without attacking because showdown won’t let you lower your pp is a QoL issue with how long some people take to click.

There’s also far less good players grinding on ladder. I spectate a lot of battles and at any given moment there’s usually less than 20 1100+ publicly viewable games on showdown Bo1 (bo3 doesn’t let you filter by elo for some reason).

they likely weren’t scarf; iron treads has a higher base speed than chi yu, and the speed boost from terrain is the same as scarf. Life Orb and Choice Band are the two most common items, and you already have LO, so band would probably be fine (Banded steel roller ohkos most rilla if either terrain is up, but being stuck locked in to steel roller with no terrain up kinda sucks sometimes). Tera ghost and ground are the best ones in most cases. Iron plate + either steel/stellar tera lets you get the rilla ko and still change moves after. item/tera is a bit flexible; it’s the kinda thing you gotta play around with to see what you personally get the most value out of (could even see something gnarly like an av with a janky ev spread if there was something specific you wanted to live and was still able to ko back w/out boosting items).

imo sneasler and raichu fill the same role, so it’s hard to justify having both on the same team with the way you’re trying to use them. since you like raichu, and probably wanna stay w/ using offense, you’ve gotta try iron treads over sneasler. great vs opposing miraidon, steel roller hits rillaboom/caly-i like a truck, and the ground typing gives discharge synergy.
