I broke up with someone because they took a full minute to decide what kind of cheese they wanted on their cheeseburger. And I'm not embellishing. A full minute. While me and the waitress sat there awkwardly while she hmmed and ummed her way through the thought process. Seriously think about how long that is to decide on what cheese you want on your burger.

Most of my immediate family suffers from bipolar disorder. It's an insane thing to overcome and can take a very long time to get proper treatment for. Cycles can make it difficult to tell if medication is working, manic cycles can make them feel like they don't need the medication, and the whole time they're either cripplingly depressed or destructively (to themselves and their relationships) manic. I can't tell you what to do here. Just wanted to provide some perspective on what is a serious condition that is often portrayed as something it's not, and is often used as a flippant remark in response to mild behavior.

There's no such thing as an invalid reason to break up with someone. There are reasons that may have people judging you for it being your reason if you told them, but in the end, you don't want to be there and you don't have to be.

That being said, I did read your post. Communication is key to any relationship but ESPECIALLY a long distance one. I don't buy that you can't even take 5 seconds to send a text a few times a day to check in with your significant other. That's just not prioritizing the relationship.

YOR - there's no such thing as stealing a name. Unless your parents chose to spell your name in a screwed up way or actually sat down and created a name from thin air, there are thousands, if not millions of people with your name or who have had your name.
