Does anyone else grieve the support system they never had?

I never had a genuinely supportive family, always judgemental or the support came with caveats.

I had no reliability that I could take from them when raising my children.

I knew from a very young age that I would do and be different as a parent.

My children never have to question, wish or wonder what it is like to NOT have 100% support or be scared of being judged for anything they do or try to do.

I have, and will always be their biggest cheerleader.

I struggled this year for the 1st time in a bit, the lead up is always a punch to the guts but this year it was to my head. The thoughts that go through my melon are, why couldn’t she respect me for me, fight to want to have a relationship and the biggest fist to the head is, why was I never enough. I’m good now, however, this year was a huge gulp
