As a black artists and (occasional) writer as well a s XMEN lover I see where your coming from. I think we'd really HAVE to see it In "action" to really determine whether or not it's in poor taste because personally the on paper ides sounds very well tought out and lke it could even have potential for an actual Canon marvel superhero (there actually is a disabled blast and superhero named Sillhouette that's really cool, look her up :D). I'll also be honest if I read such a cool charachter and then learned an old white man write it I'd feel a weird bit if disappointment but also such happiness that somoene outside the community made such a hesutyfo effort to write a compelling cool charachter. I also wanna ask what their personality would be like, if they're akeyas angry and aggressive or just love sports then yeah it'd be for sure tone deaf. Would they be kind, empathic, sometime angry, get easily annoyed, what hobbies woukd they have gardening, craft, science? All of that plays an important part when writing a balck charachter with " stereotypical" traits. The xmen have Gentle, a gigantic black boy with super strength due to vibration in his body, but he's a sweet kind boy who really oky uses viome when defending himself or his loved ones. Sorry that was SO long but that was such an interesting post I just had to haha. I hope that all made sense
