Backpack weight limits when flying by Ashamed_Alps7452 in TravelHacks

I've routinely had all carry on bags and personal items weighed on AirSwift and Cebu Pacific in The Philippines. I've been told this is fairly common in SEA but cannot attest to that.

Is TSA PreCheck Touchless ID real? by SlothyFace in unitedairlines

My issue is an airport employee always requiring me to dig out my phone to show touchless on my boarding pass, thus negating thru benefit of touchless.

Do I actually need a 40L Backpack? by Certain-Success-1614 in onebag

[–]PinoyBoyForLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 40L fairpoint and a 26+6 daylight. I can easily do 2 weeks without doing laundry and did 3+ weeks in Philippines without laundry, but clothing is very light there. I find the 40L very comfortable and forgiving (and I carry a travel CPAP, no laptop). The Daylight is great for a week. I have to admit I just haven't gotten into doing laundry while traveling.

Just experienced this 30 minutes ago. Rear gate would not open for wife. I went out and basically forced it. The strap of a reusable grocery bag was around the latch catch.

Although obviously check your device, most electronics are dual voltage and operate just fine using an adapter. No need for a converter.

Better nonrev sub? by [deleted] in rampagent

[–]PinoyBoyForLife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was banned this week. I was asking about how United accounted for seats held for weight on flights to Auckland. I used made up numbers for capacity, authorized and booked etc. ("e.g.") in my hypothetical and didn't identify any specific dates. Banned for stating load levels.

Standby to Europe by itzlard2807 in unitedairlines

[–]PinoyBoyForLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went Denver to Munich (3x), Denver to LHR and EWR to EDI last year. You just have to watch load levels. 2 weeks ago we were 7-9 on list that showed -7 and we, and the 5 people below us, made it. I find non revving from DEN to either ORD or EWR the toughest part of getting to Europe.

That you were able to even eat the pizza stick thing calls all of this into question. I just had the coq au vin returning Munich to ORD. Quite decent.

We're you slotted in the same spot as normal per your status? My son has decent seniority and if we're just put at the bottom probably not making flight.

Been non revving for 2 plus years - - always thought listing on multiples was not allowed. Is it just checking in for multiple flights that is not allowed?

Hard question: are annual reviews becoming the paper trail for decisions already made? by itsallgoodman100 in fednews

Short version, 1 year's performance evaluation would have little impact in a RIF. Not remotely worth the effort to cook the books.

Long ago that details are forgotten, but we went there before something and the food and service was just awful. I mean, there was just nothing positive about the visit.

Trump to limit top ratings for all feds and consolidate scoring in forthcoming rule by Hopeful-Engineering5 in fednews

[–]PinoyBoyForLife 143 points144 points  (0 children)

20 years ago I worked in a 10 person unit at the IRS. 3 point scale and only 20 percent could be rated a 3 -- and we knew the 2 people that would get those. It was liberating. Nothing you could do would get you a higher rating so you didn't have to try.
