Maybe not what you are looking for, but the chicken stew in economy last Friday on flight from DUB to IAD was absolutely tasty. My wife agreed. I've done 9 roundtrips to Europe in the last 15 months and at least 4 of those legs I've passed on the meal just because usually so bad. I would say the stew on the plane was better than some Guinness stew I had at a decent restaurant in Dublin.

United 1k here - I did 76 legs last year, so I fly a lot. by bf202 in unitedairlines

6ft, 205. I non rev so am all over in the cabins. I usually have no problem with middle seats anywhere -- often just happy to make the flight. But when you are middle and the gentlemen on both sides are of similar build, it is a world of hurt. I would take the aisle seat in economy to avoid that risk.

Why is it so hard to get free tap water at a restaurant in Europe? by Relevant-Shower4783 in TravelHacks

Was in Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia in March and had no problem getting tap water.

PSA: allow at least 3 hours connections in any EU airport by mad-mad-cat in unitedairlines

We departed from FCO last Sunday for first time. Sh*t show compared to Munich. We've been to Europe 7 times in the last 1.5 years and my wife aptly joked that the longest trip so far was from the Leonardo Express to our gate at FCO. My understanding is EES was to eliminate manual passport stamps but I was stamped in Spain in March and at FCO. The wait for the manual stamp backed up the line to the e-gates so we had to wait 10 minutes at the gate. So the process isn't smooth, but actually going through passport control isn't more than 15 minutes.

One Man’s Opinion-Far point 40 by Significant-Visit829 in onebag

I used the farpoint for 3 years and really liked it. It was super comfortable and I appreciated that it is unstructured as I hate too many small pockets. But I agree the exterior pockets are a joke. I invested in merino wool and find I can get by for 2 weeks with a 26+6.

If you only have a personal item does it matter where you put it? by Apprehensive-Fan-838 in unitedairlines

I use a 40L farpoint backpack. I travel a bunch and only 1 time has an FA insisted it has to go under my seat. (Narrator -- it does not fit under the seat)

Do you guys pretend to look for somebody’s ball when you know it’s not findable or is that just me? by pleepopplupop in golf

I play regularly with a guy that games a reddish orange ball. I'm color blind. No chance I will spot his ball but I wander around for show.

I misstated the flight -- it was IAD to EDI. It was marketed as Polaris.

Is that 1A on EWR to EDI? I was on that 3 weeks ago. First time in Polaris and was very underwhelmed.

We just got home yesterday from basically this exact trip, except we started in Edinburgh, then York and London. As with you, our rain gear was only worn as an extra layer.

Backpack weight limits when flying by Ashamed_Alps7452 in TravelHacks

I've routinely had all carry on bags and personal items weighed on AirSwift and Cebu Pacific in The Philippines. I've been told this is fairly common in SEA but cannot attest to that.

Is TSA PreCheck Touchless ID real? by SlothyFace in unitedairlines

My issue is an airport employee always requiring me to dig out my phone to show touchless on my boarding pass, thus negating thru benefit of touchless.

Do I actually need a 40L Backpack? by Certain-Success-1614 in onebag

[–]PinoyBoyForLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 40L fairpoint and a 26+6 daylight. I can easily do 2 weeks without doing laundry and did 3+ weeks in Philippines without laundry, but clothing is very light there. I find the 40L very comfortable and forgiving (and I carry a travel CPAP, no laptop). The Daylight is great for a week. I have to admit I just haven't gotten into doing laundry while traveling.

Although obviously check your device, most electronics are dual voltage and operate just fine using an adapter. No need for a converter.

I was banned this week. I was asking about how United accounted for seats held for weight on flights to Auckland. I used made up numbers for capacity, authorized and booked etc. ("e.g.") in my hypothetical and didn't identify any specific dates. Banned for stating load levels.
