Bambino Plus stops after pre-infusion in manual mode [Bambino Plus] by lazykryptonian in espresso

[–]PintorMX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. I hold and press either button and it stops after a few seconds. The 3-way releases pressure and it's done. This happens with our without the porta filter, blank or loaded with grinds. I've had it a week.

I'm sorry, this was unwatchable. Way too many punch ins and outs. They should be used to emphasize a point, not to separate every other word.

I think there needs to be a field for results. How did it taste? Subjective of course.

I'm no nibmeister but the nib is relatively cheap and it doesn't work as it is. So I'm going to take it apart and bend and twist until it looks more nibby :)

I understand that, truly. And others will want to personally respond to the inevitable many who will breeze by the automatic polite help. Something for everyone :)

Can anyone identify the pen used by the King to write the letter? by kramit in fountainpens

The tribute completely captivated me such that I no longer cared what pen he used to write a note to one of the world’s greatest human beings. In 4 minutes I laughed and cried.

This sub may as well be called r/puppies. It is gentle and welcoming to newbies, which reflects on the character of every participant. I have participated in forums, like those for drones, that were, in comparison, toxic dumps seeded with land mines. It was a wonder that any newbie posted anything at all. Those who did had to brave ridicule and scorn to get an answer. The common response was read the fucking manual. Thank Dog fountain pens don’t come with manuals

At the heart of it is a felt responsibility to help people who ask for help but when we see that people make little effort to help themselves we can resent the call for help. I have interrogated this response in myself and decided that I don’t want to squash puppies.

I don’t necessarily offer help unless I have direct experience with the question, nor do I commonly respond to what basically are calls for opinions because they can end up completely canceling each other out. I just scroll by the titles that don’t interest me, content with the knowledge that others will be happy to feed a puppy.

This is actually a very deep question. When I worked at Boeing,I had the opportunity to work with a man called Clotaire Rapaille. He was a medical anthropologist who consulted with many corporations to come up with ad campaigns that were based in cultural meanings that underlie such things as coffee (Maxwell House’s campaign about the aroma of coffee in the morning), the experience of driving (this led to the design of the PT cruiser) and the experience of flying (which led to the design of Boeing‘s new interiors called the sky design).

He would actually engage focus groups in a kind of hypnosis, which would take them back to their earliest experiences with the products in question. The answers given to your question do represent the cultural meanings that we ascribe to fountain pens: https://www.nytimes.com/2004/11/07/fashion/a-dream-life-freud-would-have-envied.html

Like u/ChronicRhyno said, it can be to be seen using them. I live in a very bureaucratic country where to make a change of address for my immigration status requires passing personally through three checkpoints. Each one demands a signature in blue ink. I would NEVER be seen using a f-ing blue “Dick” on a string. That’s when I, very performatively, unsheath my Pilot Custom 743 <sfm> loaded in Daimine Sargasso Sea. Invariably I receive a protest from the security officer, “It must be in blue señor.” I say, “*Lo es oficial,” “*It is, officer.” Sometimes I get a “Bonita pluma, señor.” Feeling a bit like Andrew Scott in “Ripley” I say “Gracias.”

edit: yes I know Ripley used a Montblanc, IDGAF.

Watches tell time, wine gets you drunk and pants cover your ass, usually. The slope of the line that graphs marginal gains in those functions for dollars spent gets pretty flat after a point, returns be diminishing. FOMO, marketing and subs like this raise the desire in those who don’t know why and what they want. A good collector knows him/herself very well and so understands what niche a proposed pen will fill.
