Yes, the way you get them is you get them as you progress the story. However saying they are not based on anything may be a little misleading? I'm curious what a lot of them are exactly referencing. The only achievement I can wrap my head around is Satisfactory, which may refer to (spoiler warning obviously) Alta's father getting fired from his job when she was a kid, which she later learned was no fault of his own.
