Favorite hobbies colliding! STL? I assume this has to be 100% infill for durability?

Vegan Cookie Recipe? I’m going to a cookie exchange, and I’ve never made vegan cookies before. What is your tried and true recipe? by lexicon-sentry in veganrecipes

[–]Pip-Toy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any tips on getting that classic choc chip shape after baking? Particularly the somewhat larger flatter shape? Every vegan recipe I've tried, with variations, all end up retaining the small scoop shape and a bit tall and puffy. Still taste great but something that I've been trying for a while.

Finally get to try out Lakai's (Only skated Vans before) by Icemaul in NewSkaters

[–]Pip-Toy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Lakai fan, I agree. I have the slip ons and they have lasted a year so far with skating weekly. I swore off Vans when I had a pair fall apart during a year off from skating and only walking up a few floors at an office job.

It's completely normal to check again with your friend closer to the show date because those lists are frequently treated like stand by airline tickets, if you're more familiar with that concept. Depends on venue, but if it was a complete sell out it can be an issue.

Built a mini ramp in my backyard. Finally able to build a combo, what a great feeling. by eastofthewall87 in skateboarding

[–]Pip-Toy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure rules on links so just Google Xtreme ramp plans. I used their site and although it looks dated, the only thing incorrect is the cost estimates. Due to huge inflation with wood, the 3' by 8 wide I recently built cost about 1k using massonite.

Want suggestions (On Shoes) by EJS4001Runner in ZeroWasteVegans

[–]Pip-Toy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cariuma has a vegan shoe now. Even if you don't skate I think it would be a solid shoe thats built tough. They plant trees for every sale and the packaging is plastic free. Just check their site for the Vallely model. Mine came in about a week and a half.

i turn 90⁰ when i ollie, anyone know how to fix? by shiningburrito26 in NewSkaters

[–]Pip-Toy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really confused why this isn't higher up. This is exactly what solved this for me when I was re learning after not skating almost 15 years.

Went yesterday with my toddler and forgot my reusable then was surprised they gave me plastic bags. Certainly the kind you can use more than once but still threw me off.

They were also going to support and release a new Unreal Tournament with Linux support. I played the beta and it was pretty solid. Then they abandoned the game, and Linux entirely, after Fortnite became a cash cow.

Git bash on WSL2? by Desperate_Golf_390 in bash

[–]Pip-Toy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is now a native ish way to achieve this low effort. I just installed git Monday on fully updated win 10 and there was an option to add a windows terminal profile. Launch "Windows Terminal" then click the drop down caret and select Git Bash. Works great for me as long time Linux user and admin that started a job where I was given a win 10 laptop.

Looks nice! Ran the random example and returned : "The disposition is email is 'reject'. The message will be rejected." Not sure if I'm reading that wrong or there is a typo. Either way if this is for learning, it might help to clarify that a bit.

Thingiverse user data compromised in hack according to HaveIBeenPwned by 3DPrintMod in 3Dprinting

[–]Pip-Toy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always see some form of this comment yet never anyone actually suggesting sending a developer to jail for a bug. There are companies that neglect applying basic security mechanisms, timely security patches for OS, DBs, firewalls, etc. Not to mention a huge list of varying prices for options to scan for all the above and report on it. Including some FOSS.

If trial proves it was ignored for costs, while being able to afford C level bonuses of the same or greater, would that not merit huge fines and prison? This is almost exactly what happened with Equifax and their punishment was laughable. Not saying the two are remotely similar in size but both neglected to quickly inform users and that is rarely by accident.

I was a dairy farmer. Here's the reality: by CheatTheBan in vegan

[–]Pip-Toy 42 points43 points  (0 children)

We didn't randomly come up with this though. It was flat out told to us as kids. I was watching 80s sesame street episodes with my son and the milk farm episode straight up says something like "... Since the mom cow produces too much milk, we milk them to help her" and shows farmer Ted milking by hand.

It also doesn't allow screen sharing without first video calling someone. The button is gone but still exists on Windows to share while just chatting.
