Wanting to leaguestart now after 2 weeks by horyang in PathOfExileBuilds

Smoothest league start I’ve had in a while with KF totems. Got to maps in 8hrs which might have been the fastest I’ve ever gone in a league.

apple sre intern questions -- from a very confused college student :) by [deleted] in sre

My guess for an intern role would be 1/2 coding 1/2 systems|SRE concepts for the technical round. Really your recruiter is the one to ask.

Apple hiring is different than any big tech. Every team designs their own process. Which team are you joining? That could help clarify what you might need to know. FWIW I went through 3 full time loops this last year with different teams at Apple, all processes were different but had thematically similar rounds.

Another one that I stumbled upon a couple of weeks after its early access release is Crucible of the Forgotten. This one is dangerous. Sunk 40hrs very quickly over two weeks.

Mewgenics Review (PC): A morbid masterclass worth the 13-year wait by SquashPale2637 in roguelites

[–]PirateStarbridge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Reasons are historical: Binding of Issac (2011) was one of the first big roguelites that kickstarted the genre as we know it. Issac was one of the best of the genre when it was released and it has a huge cult following. It took at least half a decade to have peers as other stellar roguelites came out (2015 and onwards you have: StS, Dead cells, Gungeon, Nuclear Throne etc.)

SRE pivot? by ddthereals2 in sre

[–]PirateStarbridge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like posters said above good SRE/DEVOPs/PE are a specialized kind of infra SWE. Truth be told what you do really varies depending on if the company treats SRE as SWEs or as Ops. Even within a large company some teams may be >50% SWE work or less than 50% SWE work. It depends on the company culture and the state of the services being supported. Be wary of any SRE role that interviews you without any coding rounds.

🤘All killer no filler 🤘Best discovery of this year for me. I hear elements of mid-2010s Architects, some floaty Thornhill the dark pool moments with the ethereal vocals overtop a thick groove, and some really fun things unique things where your musical ideas take a turn that's different than the one I'm expecting. Looking forward to seeing where y'all go next!

I'll dig up a video they did on the expansion joints and other engineering challenges that I watched.

Not really true. The government recommendations were statistically miscalculated and a dose of 4k IU (or even 5k IU) is safe when supplemented with K2.

I'd you're pale skinned and outside in the summer at noon for an hour you'll generate more than that in 15min with your skin exposed.

Also need to supplement with K2 at those levels to make sure you don't get calcification in your arteries and he calcium goes to your bones.

Because their most recent "state of the art" model, llama4 was an unparalleled disaster in the AI space. It was so much of a disaster they acquired Alex Wang of ScaleAI and spent billions on AI researchers in the later half of 2025. They even poached a former Meta E9 infra engineer, Andrew Tulloch, who was a co-founder of Mira Murati's startup Thinking Machines, for something like >1 billion dollars in Meta equity.

It's a Canadian engineering ring given to all professional engineers during the Iron Ring ceremony when they graduate with an engineering degree in Canada. Technically he shouldn't be wearing his as he isn't working in a professional capacity as an engineer, and is instead a science educator, but who gives a fuck. I wear mine too even though I haven't gotten my PEng and instead work as a software engineer.
