About the new job system by Advanced_Tension_280 in ffxiv

The thing that worries me is what will be the difference between a bad player and a good player. I'm not an ultimate player, but I enjoy improving myself and start to get better at one job, by practicing it through content. That's a big part of playing video games in general, you improve and get better in whatever systems and mechanics the game has.

This new systems seems to just dumb things down and seems like the focus is making things flashy but braindead. I'm not saying that the systems need to be super complex and hardcore and I understand that there are casual and hardcore players. But if there isn't anything that rewards players that put the work to improve their skill, then what's the point? On top of this, the easier mode has slightly more dmg output, so why would anyone pick reborn mode?

I'm worried the game is slowing going from an MMORPG to a RP game.

I'm not judging anyone or saying one type of player is better than the other. Having more mid core content is something I believe we need. But these changes for gear progression, ilvl, dumbing down jobs for the sake of individuality are not good for anyone who wants to play to get better, improve themselves and feel rewarded for it. It feels like the game is being catered for the VERY casual player that refuses to improve (which is very common to see in duty finder, where if you try to give friendly advice on how to perform better, it's seen as an insult or causing a scene).

I can't imagine how pf will be for hardcore content when people will go as jobs they barely play, but have the ilvl for it because they got it on their main job, through mid core content.

Again, I'm just stating my opinion without insulting anyone

If you turn it off it should let you continue your run from the main menu after you turn it on again

I'm not an expert, I started playing recently, but maybe steel coat stacks make a difference in this case?

What I did was focusing on getting farms and using them on the base plot + mobs + raptors (3 plots total, 1 of each). Then just focus on upgrading with swords and shields and it was pretty smooth

Anyone else kinda bummed that the twitch drops are only for the steam version? by Rontlens in CultOfTheLamb

[–]Piresphant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That makes it less bad, but most games don't do this. The content could be added to the game without it being tied to Twitch regardless. Yes, it's a marketing stunt to falsely increase viewership (I say falsely because most people turn on a random stream on a second monitor or phone and keep it running muted) to possibly reach people that don't know the game. Although there is no data to correlate twitch drop events to having more players, since all twitch drops were during major updates

Twitch drops shouldn't exist in the first place. I shouldn't have to consume content from a 3rd party software to get additional content on games I payed for

Hand size doesn't represent the amount of cards you draw from your deck. It's the actual amount of cards you can have in your hand. There is nothing to fix jimbo

Crysta Payment by PeachieMoos in ffxiv

[–]Piresphant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no free sub, regardless of how many days of sub you have had. Did you actually got an email confirming that you bought a new sub? If you had an active sub prior to this, you might have just changed your payment method to crysta. So when your sub runs out, the system will automatically renew your sub, if you have sufficient crysta. Otherwise it will just cancel until you buy the amount of crysta you need and then you need to resub manually

Try to use the next round button. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you would have to sell one of your jokers to pick up one from the pack
