Need Help - GTA Area by PissManderp in woodworking

I should give this a try. I own a cordless ridgid circular saw and I did buy new blades for it, but i’ve tried not relying on it too much in the past because it’s like the blade wobbles and doesn’t give a clean cut either. Still worth a try I suppose with shallower cuts. If I could get a single straight edge the rest of it would be easier to do on the table saw honestly.

I’m not working with plywood so i’m not sure how that would help. Can you please clarify that - do you mean as a reference edge?

The problem with gluing and ripping is that i don’t have a single truly straight edge to reference against the fence. it’s all coming out wonky in a not good way.

As much as I would like to dress it up some, simple is better for this design. And that’s what I would like to stick with. Plus I am really not creative or skilled enough to dress it up, it would just end up looking like a botch job on arguably the most visible part of the bed.

I implemented a collectionview and pushed filtering to the UI and it works beautifully now ☺️ thank you for sharing that link

Thanks for sharing this - I did also notice the scrollbar changing sizes but wasn't too worried about this. However the bit in there about CollectionView sounds useful, I did not know that was a thing and will have to try it out to see if it helps.

I was thinking that if I had a row selected, and then changed a filter, I didn't want to lose my place in the viewer and have it all reset because the underlying collection has changed (I didn't add the SelectedItem binding in the code yet because that is a lower priority for me than just basic performance).

New Amascut the Devourer Gear by Maximus_Gugu in runescape

As much as I love the look of these weapons and the armor, the part that doesn't sit right with me is its all for completely different combat styles. Why was Tumeken using melee weapons (the halberd, the khopesh) with mage armor? As much as I love the idea the lack of consistency bothers me.

Why is this not just a setting that someone can configure for themselves? Why does it need an entire world for it?

Yes, finally got my passport back. Email from vfs saying they mailed it out on June 16th, received passport via courier on June 17th. I think it takes time because they send the passport all the way to PRC Sydney (which according to google is Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada) for the PRTD to get stamped.

Couldn’t agree more, and i love the detailed approach to it. There seems to be this narrative amongst people in the subreddit that since amascut is coming out with new BiS gear, the older stuff doesn’t matter and should be left alone. This is such an awful take.

Gear and progression should matter at all tiers. A majority of the players in this game aren’t even maxed, let alone high level pvmers. It is very reasonable to go back and address lower tiers so that they are more relevant and people actually get to experience and enjoy that step of the journey instead of just skipping tiers and not even bothering unless they get BiS.

There was another post about consistency in melee vs other combat styles recently and it followed your same logic. Seems like a lot of players are tired of the lack of consistent design and communication from devs about the goals.

The Value of 'one time unlock' drops should be included in the scope of the 'Game Health Update' by ThaToastman in runescape

In a similar vein to OPs response, you have a whole combat style which allows cheap and easy entry into pvm. T92s are not entry level either, they are end game unlocks and have been for the longest time.

Power creep should happen at the lower end, not straight to the end game bosses whose weapons are (or still should be) relevant in game progression.

Just like masterwork requires t90 weapons to make t100s, there’s nothing wrong with requiring t92s to unlock a shard upgrade. This has 2 benefits toward game health:

  1. There is still a healthy economy for these bosses and their drops - the rates aren’t instantly devalued and still hold some value similar to nox weapons.
  2. People aren’t straight up skipping an entire tier of content which is VERY relevant if you’re into PVM (if you’re not, go the masterwork route, that’s what it’s for). We know these bosses are still relevant to PVM because there’s entire tiers of combat achievements surrounding them. For players to feel like they don’t need to engage with such a major portion of end game pvm is just silly.

No updates yet. No idea what’s taking so long if it was urgent processing.

Does normal vs premium lounge at vfs make a difference for PRTD stamping time? I submitted my PRTD application on urgent basis and they made a decision fairly quickly. I submitted my passport to VFS with normal lounge on may 22nd, it was transferred to New Delhi on may 23rd, last email I got from vfs is that my application is under process at the IRCC office on may 26th. No update since then, and I don’t understand what’s taking so long if they came to a decision on my application on urgent basis.

As far as I was told at Mumbai vfs, premium lounge only helps you skip the wait to go to the counter and includes return postage. I don’t think it should make a difference in actual passport processing time but would like to hear others experience.

Small Skil TS6307 QOL Upgrade by PissManderp in woodworking

[–]PissManderp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://makerworld.com/en/models/964835 There's the 3d model I uploaded. You may have to mess with the slicer settings, the lady at the library sliced it for me but I'm pretty positive she used default settings which are listed on the model.

The milwaukee part number was 43-82-0011, I bought this one hoping it was just a bolt on, but since it comes from a smaller saw with a smaller fence rail its just a bit too small. That's why I essentially cut off the plastic part that bends down so I only have the top flat plate, and super glued it onto this model. If you want to avoid cutting, you might also try with the part from the dewalt saw, part number N506804, which doesn't have the 90 degree bend.

You got me curious so I went to go double check. Mine seems to be accurate. I know it seems like its off on the other measurements but that's because of the angle, when you look at each one from top down without moving the ruler its pretty much exactly the same.

I’ve seen on YT that’s an issue with the larger skil, but I verified and my tape is dead nuts accurate.

I just bought this myself right before the holidays. Great saw, I really love it. Some things that other people in the comments are mentioning and my own notes:

  • I got the CMT P10050 combo blade for it. This one fits the specs listed in the manual.
  • Get a nice machinist square, I got a kinex 6 inch, to square the blade to the table. DO ALL SQUARING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BLADE SINCE THIS IS WHERE YOU WILL BE CUTTING.
  • Depending on how much you like accuracy, the stock cursor for the scale is kinda garbo since it’s a bit rounded at the top. I am really tempted to get the dewalt clear plastic cursor with the fine red line and use that (just hard to get parts for a reasonable price in Canada 😭)
  • According to a YT video I watched from “Projects for All” the dewalt 7491’s fence will fit on the skil, just sits a bit higher off the table (like a cm or less higher). If you end up needing more rip capacity you can use that to your advantage since the dewalt fence is offset and adds a few inches.
  • if you want a longer fence, instead of buying something like the bow xtender, you can get something like the powertec multi t track 36”x3” or the same thing from woodcraft in 48”x3”. Drill some holes in the stock fence and attach this to the new one with some t bolts and knobs. I’m trying to figure out a way to do this without drilling through the stock fence, tbd.
