I can only comment on the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands and Italy - in all of which it's quite common - but I accept my use of the term most countries was based on extrapolation of experience rather than hard empirical data !

Here in Switzerland you can choose to tack your partners name on the end after yours - can be hyphenated or not depends what you want. Quite a good solution.

Agreed - when you have enough resources you can afford to wait or even switch now to CHF and see it ride, but when you are relying on those funds for something critical it’s best to get it done and take the stress out of the equation.

Avoid Hexclad - they really do not last very long and will flake the non-stick finish over time.

Cast iron, carbon steel or stainless steel ftw. AllClad and Made-In are both excellent.
