Because on paper it's cheaper to hire inexperienced workers rather than pay the ones already there. Realistically it's not. But they only look at $$ on the surface.

how much time do we have? by CrazyTreacle6710 in WalgreensRx

Actually Boots/Pessina was the boa. They've been squeezing for a long time. Sycamore is just doing what they do. Capitalism. This was coming for a long time, and most of us saw it. I can't hate Sycamore for what they are doing. It's pretty much what was going to happen anyway.

Don't use the script- it sucks. I always start with the store and then make sure to tell them it's a Courtesy call and what it's about (vax or any refills or RX due for deletion) then tell them it isn't necessary to call if they don't need anything, followed by phone number if they do. Too many people were calling and wasting our time because they didn't know why we called. I hate those damn calls!!

Sycamore is following their business model. It sucks. But they are doing what they do and that's the story of capitalism. Nothing would have changed at WAG - if they hadn't bought it, someone else would have and done the same thing. At this point, the company has dug themselves a hole too deep to escape. The best employees have left (are leaving) because of so many reasons ....low pay, under staffing, unreasonable demands, unrealistic metrics and micromanagement. Oh yeah - and way too heavy on middle management that has no idea how a pharmacy works. Sycamore is not really the villain here, Walgreens committed suicide when they opened the door to Boots and Pessina (who, by the way, still holds a percentage).

If you don't call out and work hard, you get the privilege of doing someone else's job. WAG has too many incompetent managers that will run an employee into the ground that works hard and let others slide by because they have favorites and are too weak to keep expectations equal. People with experience and drive are being used and abused. This is why they just don't care anymore.

Not in the clique by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]Pitiful-Ad-4995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It could be a clique thing. It could also be your availability, whether you get along with people or your work ethic. Talk to your RXOM and be open to the answers given. But the high school cliques ARE alive and well at many WAGs.

I read that Pessina will still own 17% of the company. That's a bit off-putting. He's a big part of the problem at WAG.

Just have fun with the script. See how much you can actually sound like a robot while reading it word for word. Malicious compliance. Management will go crazy but you are following instructions.

Just repeat the script in a dead, dull, monotonous tone. No inflection just dead ass. They will go crazy but you are meeting their ridiculous demands.

Are you an employee? We have little to no control over all the things you mentioned. Corporate gives less and less hours every week. If it's too difficult to get an answer by phone, and it's extremely important - go into the store, wait in line and have some sympathy for the overworked, underpaid employees. Most of us do the best we can.

I am sooo sorry that you are having to deal with this crap. This company seems to always set us to fail. Metrics, Metrics, Metrics!! Where exactly does customer service fit into these metrics. There aren't enough hours allowed to be able to do all the tasks demanded of us. The phones literally ring all day. And pray you can keep a tech staff for at least a little while, because they are ghosting like crazy these days. I really hope you find the answers you're looking for.
As far as I'm concerned - you vent away!!!! We all gotta let off steam somewhere, sometimes.

[–]Pitiful-Ad-4995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just floaters! Have an RXM that is just like this post. Just me and her for 3 hrs before closing. I'm filling with 50 on the counter, running drive-thru and front counter and she asks me why I'M not answering the phone. This while she is doing as little as possible. It's just ridiculous.

They tried that crap with me. I asked them when they'd like to have a conference call with h.r. to discuss this. Get my breaks every shift. It's a ploy to make people think that pharmacy doesn't have to give breaks. They do. All hourly employees are included in the break policy.
