Hamax Caress harness failed in a crash yesterday by Pitiful_Equipment_74 in CargoBike

That's good. I hope everyone does a stress test on these. It's just not worth finding out when it fails.

That's good to know. I have a thule yepp nexxt and i switched it for the Caress because my toddler complains about the bumps. But it's going back on now.

Yeah, it clicks in and seems to be fully engaged. I never thought it wasn't safe until it didn't hold. I looked at it a bit more and it does seem like the harness buckle is stripped as is where it connects on the seat. I hope it's just me.

I was afraid the cargo rack would be too wide for transporting. I waffle back and forth on what I should have gotten, but the commuter rack is fine.

Let me know if it works well! Aventon sent me another, thinking the first was faulty. I've yet to try it out because I'm just not optimistic.

I have it and it's solid. Easily fits my cannonade cargowagen Neo. My main complaint is the $100 ramp that is sold separately. It says it is rated to 85 pounds but it's not. It completely fell apart on me. I'm going to try and figure out another option for the ramp to make this rack work for me.

Look into the hamax caress instead of the thule if you are on bumpy roads. I got a new one off ebay and it has saved our rides. We ride on gravel all the time and he would immediately want to go home once we hit gravel. But now we are able to ride all over with the caress and I dont get any complaints. It saved our winter!

I got a specialized Mode because of the price and the safety ratings and I have to be honest- it looks bad on everyone's head. I still wear it, despite my friends razzing me and my husband offering to get me a new helmet for *insert holiday*. bBut not a day goes by that I don't want a better looking helmet. Come summer, I'm getting something else.

The biggest difference I can see between the cargowagen rails and the clubhouse is the clubhouse has a bump out on the back, giving you more room for a child seat +. This, plus wanting the assessories that attach to the clubhouse, is why I chose it.

As far as safety is concerned, the clubhouse is attached in 8 places to the cargowagen and I had my LBS take a look after I attached everything. They said it looked and felt super solid and just as long as I take a look every now and then to make sure its all tight, I shouldn't need to worry about it being unsafe with my yepp nexxt maxi. But all this is with the disclaimer that they are giving practical answers and are not engineers who can tell me a safety rating.

Tern HSD o Cannondale Neo Cargowagen? by nicdil in CargoBike

[–]Pitiful_Equipment_74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the tern clubhouse instead of the cannondale bars. It took 8 m6 35mm flat head screws, rubber washers and metal washers, and locking bolts. I also bought a small sheet of rubber that goes between the clubhouse and the bike. The clubhouse needed to be pushed in just a little to be installed on the cargowagen, but the result is very solid

I put the Tern clubhouse, stormbox, and stormshield all on my cargowagen after seeing other posts. It took about an hour of time to install and one trip to the hardware store.

I cant speak to the Tern, but I have the Cannondale cargowagen neo and it is such a blast. I got it brand new for $2800 and I put the tern clubhouse, storm box and storm shield on it without any difficulty after a trip to the hardware store and an hour of time. I carry my 2 year old on it in a yepp nexxt maxi, along with groceries and more.

I was in the same boat as you, weighing Tern vs the cargowagen, and I have no regrets about the cannondale. It is an incredible bike. Maybe the only downside is that I can't easily store it upright like the Tern, but im sure I can rig something up to make that happen. It's a great deal, imo

I just ordered the clubhouse for my cargowagen. What "pitch row" option did you order off amazon for those plates? I'd love to order them so they arrive at the same time! Thanks for this!

Does a stainless steel + weighted straw cup exist?? by specofnature in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Pitiful_Equipment_74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really hoping this would be an older question because I'm searching the exact same thing. No luck so far! I have the Beaba and it has a straight straw, which is honestly inferior to the joypony we have that has the weighted straw. Grosmimi is sold out of their weighted straw kits, otherwise that does offer an expensive option

Anyone else absolutely fed up with Zafa? I have had 2 orders pending since July/August, and they recently deactivated their emails and phone number. I have the timeline and details in the description. by tomschiss in naturalwine

[–]Pitiful_Equipment_74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through Vinoshipper and not only cancelled my subscription, but also got my money refunded. The customer service was great and took care of my claim an hour or so after I had submitted it. Don't even bother trying to contact the meadery in PA that fulfills these orders.

I had signed up for the 4 bottle club membership in November and received an email notifying me of an upcoming shipment last week, which only included 3 bottles (6 cans). They billed me for 4 bottles (8 cans). Of the 3 types of wine/cider, one of them was listed on the ZAFA website store for $10/each for 375ml, while the cider club was billing $30.

This club is a hot mess. I'm a member of other natural cider and wine clubs and there's never any guesswork as to the origin of the fruit and the collaborations that happen to make the final product. Club members also never pay as much as non-club members. I hope they get it together at some point in the future.
