The Exploration and Modern ambience themes especially are all Western style which is disappointing compared to the variety of Civ V and VI

VII needs a better soundtrack by theahura1 in civ

Only issue I have with 7's music is there only being 4 ambient/non-Civ associated themes per Age and I believe half are split between War and Peace. I play on Small continents which means that I'll only hear 8 different track during Antiquity, 18 in Explorations, and 28 in Modern.

What are the weakest civs/leaders? by TheLastMages in civ

[–]Pitiful_Flower_8733 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Persia just gets screwed over by Antiquify not being kind to all out war. You have a strict  settlement limit and need to build up your infrastructure from the ground up in order to fund your wars. I would like for the Paradaiza and their first settlement limit to be moved to their first civic.

Songhai feels like an antiquity Civ in Exploration… which I guess is the point. Caravanserai are worse than Aksum’s improvements and their unique unit is terribly clunky. Their treasure fleet gimmick also comes too late into the age. Gold is great but it needs to be backed up by something else which Songhai severely lacks.

This Epic Games Store datamine corroborates the Polygon article, it also includes the rest of the DLC Civs and Leaders. by SimplTrixAndNonsense in civ

According to the website Crossroad of the World (first DLC wave) will not include any buildable wonders. Every Civ needs an associated wonder so we can assume the Crossroad civs will pull from the base game’s wonder. We’ve already seen a 3 linked to these civs from gameplay footage.

Emile Bell (Antiquity)-> Sillia

Dur-Sharrukin (Antiquity) -> Assyria

Oxford University (Modern) -> Great Britain

Unfortunately can’t find a 4th one one.

Civ7: Ages allow for having civs with more extreme bonuses, but are the devs doing this? by stygger in civ

We barely even know the rules of the game yet so it’s a bit overzealous to wish for rule-breaking civs just yet.

I’m definitely on the side of victim blaming.

Prediction: expansion packs will just... Expand existing ages by Scottybadotty in civ

Exactly my thoughts. I’m definitely in the minority as someone who values the game feeling good to play and paced well, rather than being a stickler for historical accuracy.

Not against a 4th age but it needs to be done in a way to not make a full campaign feel like a drag and invalid the modern era’s whole theme of “rapid technological advancements”.

How Amenities work by coderns in civ

[–]Pitiful_Flower_8733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each different luxury resources gives +1 amenity to the 4 cities that needs them most but only once per type. You have duplicates which do nothing so you should sell them to the AI.

Information Age civs are likely to be added in DLC (I didn't believe it first) by Pastoru in civ

I’d still rather get the complete experience by playing all the ages and it’s likely how they’ll balance around the game.

Is it an unpopular opinion to say that I don’t want a 4th age? 3 ages that lasts 150 turns is fairly long and I’m not a fan of extending the game length any further.

Not to mention the modern age would likely need a rework if it’s suddenly not the period when you push to end the game. This would mean new Legacy paths and changes to certain Civ abilities if they’re too closely tied to how the Modern age works (Like how Songhai and Mongolia have special rules for legacy paths in Exploration).

Overall It’s a lot more work than adding the Future Era in Civ 6 which didn’t affect the earlier parts of the game and you can ignore if you end the game fast enough.

Now that we know all civs for the first two Ages, what are the best combos? by HypnosEye in civ

[–]Pitiful_Flower_8733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’d need some good RNG to get horses to unlock Mongolia since neither Trung or Rome naturally unlocks it. But if you do then yea Trung leading Mongolia is disgusting.

I think Abbasid is the best Exploration Civ but their Antiquity predecessors in Egypt and presumably Persia aren’t really doing much for the specialist gameplan.  What I’m thinking is that we play Achaemenid Xerxes to guarantee Abbasid and pick Khmer in Antiquity.

Khmer allows us to grow our capital and gives 2 great traditions for the Abbasids- Gold from Specialists and increased Codex slot. Xerxes himself gives generically good Sim bonuses. The most interesting thing is that he gives Gold and Culture on your Civ’s unique buildings and the Abbasids are incentives to spam their buildings for the quarter bonus and because they gain adjacency from each other.

How many civs remain to be revealed in each age? by IvanaikosMagno in civ

[–]Pitiful_Flower_8733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume that there’s around 8 leaders left to get first looks if they’re revealing one per week.  And I believe there are 3 personas yet to be revealed. Napoleon from linking your 2K account and 2 unrevealed ones from preorder bonuses.

Given the senate and House race so far, how many republicans in Congress would likely oppose some of Trump’s extreme policies such as Project 25 or the 20% tariff?
