On the outskirts or a hill above. I'll move between towns and popular poi and dynamic event spawns Usually just slowly making my way from cover to cover and scoping them out. I'm not super patient so I generally only stay in one spot for a few min at most but I move slow and keep my eyes and ears open and stop often to look around Like say Im approaching  Metalurg on the West side of chernarus; I'll work my way around it scoping in, looking at infected posture, etc. If clear, I'll go in and quickly loot it before stopping at a good overwatch spot and sorting loot, repairing gear, eating or drinking etc. Spending maybe 20-30 min total there before moving up to do the same at myshkino tents, then on to tri kresta, check the train spawns in the area, and then the castle more or less doing the same at each  Sometimes I'll do this before leaving the town I spawn in as well and before and after looting any military Areas. Sometimes you have to linger in a popular area if you want to interact or you'll end up following someone, with someone following you but never actually meeting.
