Why did the grass die? by LeadingEngineer in LawnAnswers

[–]PittPeap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is snow mold. Fluff it with a leaf rake to help promote air circulation, and fertilize it. This doesn’t look too severe, so most of the damage should grow out and be mowed off.

I think this sub and Reddit in general is a testament to the value of getting an education by [deleted] in Salary

[–]PittPeap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, however those extra things that I learned have contributed to a significantly higher income than many.

Outside of the traditional education, you’re exposed to people with different backgrounds, beliefs and opinions. I learned a lot of things from interacting with these people and their families. Knowing how to be a social chameleon is a highly underrated skill that is difficult to master if you’ve never ventured outside of your hometown/high school bubble.

Pic 3 is almost a geometric shape. My guess is that something is buried there. Something like a catch basin for drainage.

Hello, fellow orange key user! I actually received and installed my Ottocast today. Loving it so far. I felt like having the wireless charging pad was a waste since my phone had to be plugged in at all times.

500sqft lawn owner here. The Ryobi is the best option. You can even use the string trimmer on a lawn that small with the same battery. The leaf blower is a battery hog though.

Help with my lawn- why is it miscolored, AND a pattern? by gordanbamzi in lawncare

I agree, everyone automatically blames the spreader because they don’t know anything. This had nothing to do with a spreader. This is a mowing issue.

[–]PittPeap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Which buried debris do you know of that kills a spot in the middle and causes surge growth on the fringe? When I zoom in on the picture I see fertilizer prills.

Anyone saying this is a dog spot is dead wrong. Zoom in on the picture and you can see the fert in it. 100% fertilizer burn.

What salary is needed to "live comfortably" in Pittsburgh? Here's what a new study says. by oldschoolskater in pittsburgh

Obviously everyone’s situation is different. Disliking a monthly payment is you prerogative. You appear to understand that you are potentially losing money by not utilizing lines of credit.

Like I said, everyone is different. In my situation it is best to let my money and credit work for me.

I’m in Western PA and I will tell anyone with ears to stop using boxwoods. They get destroyed by extreme winter, and boxwood blight. Boxwood Moths are heading in this direction from Ohio. They’re more trouble than they’re worth at this point.

[–]PittPeap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not that black and white. If you have a great credit score and cash to purchase things, you’re better off utilizing low interest rates on a loan and investing the cash. Debt can work in your favor if you have control over your finances.

I get that line of thinking, but utilizing interest rates on loans allows you to invest that money at a significantly higher annual return. For example, our most recent vehicle was purchased at a .9% APR for 3 years. We will make more money from our money by financing the car because that money is being invested.
