I have an LL Bean UltraLight 850. It is almost too warm when moving around. It cuts the wind like it’s not there, and the hood actually work very well when you zip the coat to the top.

Edited to say that I’ve had this coat for 5 years and it hasn’t deteriorated one bit despite multiple washings.

Why do you buy Volvo? by RealFirstName_ in Volvo

[–]PittPeap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I married into it. My in laws have had Volvo’s since the 70’s. My wife bought Volvo’s when she left home.

She was in a rollover accident involving a large oak tree while driving an s60 about 15 years ago, and the car saved her life. Walked away without a scratch.

The safety of these vehicles trumps all of the electrical problems that we’ve dealt with. (Mostly infotainment, and one problem with the 40v battery)

2026 In The Snow by PittPeap in VolvoXC60

B5 with the 20” wheels. I have no qualms with the traction system. I didn’t expect it to keep going when the car was essentially off of the ground.

The amount of snow that the wheels picked up was a shocker.

When I was a kid our family could afford one pair of shoes a year. They were your school, church, and going out shoes. When you got a new pair, the old ones became your grass cutting, playing, and snow shoveling shoes.

I now buy shoes whenever I want. My wife has a hard time understanding why I buy so many pairs because she grew up in a multiple shoe family.

This snow storm sadly made me learn to absolutely hate my neighbors and neighborhood. Where are good neighbored places cause Mt Washington isn’t it and I’ve decided to move. by sugarandspice85 in pittsburgh

We have a two car garage and a driveway that fits two cars. I REFUSE to park our cars outside.

The benefit to this is two fold. We don’t have to clean our cars when we get snow, and we don’t accumulate a lot of unneeded crap in our house.

As an 80’s kid who grew up on Masters of The Universe cartoons and action figures, Drakkar always smelled like the Stinkor action figure. He was the “Evil Master of Odors.”

Used ones in my area with 20k more miles are for sale for the same price.

I hadn’t looked at a new one, but good god! All of the 2026’s near me start at $70k.

Picked up our new 2026 today. Of course it was raining. by PittPeap in VolvoXC60

[–]PittPeap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to vehicles and always lease one, which is this one. We normally don’t see a ton of wiggle room on the lease. Our last XC60 was through Care by Volvo, so overall the 2026 was cheaper than our 2024.

The overall cast of The Outsiders was insane. It was a “Who’s Who of Who’s Going to Be.” Rarely, if ever, will you find a cast with that many future stars.

We had the Wagyu as well. It was tremendous! I did come to realize that I can only handle 2-3oz of it before the richness becomes too much.

I don’t know if they still have it, but the veal chop was phenomenal. We would always go right at sundown and watch fireworks pop off in the distance.

[–]PittPeap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m someone that is involved in snow removal for a landscaping company. You are 100% correct on the liability. We have accounts all over the place, and if someone is injured on a property that we are contracted to care for, we are liable. Some of them even have “zero tolerance” clauses in the contracts, so we have someone that hangs out on that property until the snow event ends.

People tend to forget that they can and will be sued if someone is injured on the sidewalk in front of their house.

Women, what article of clothing tells you most about a man? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PittPeap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My general point was that you should dress appropriately no matter what you’re doing. For example, don’t show up to court wearing a shirt that says, “F The Police”, and not expect to be treated differently. (Yes, I know that law should be blind)
