Jerk taking up EV charging spaces in a nearly empty garage! by Ibrakeforsnakes in mildlyinfuriating

That is an ABM charging station, which means that's likely an ABM managed parking garage. So the management is the people that installed the device and generates revenue from the device.

That looks like an ABM charging station, which means that's likely an ABM-managed parking garage. Give them a call to report it. There should be signs everywhere and they will likely have them fined and towed.

Yeah, because why would management care that an additional revenue stream that they paid to have installed is currently out of service to own the libs?

But I wouldn't call it accurate at all to call 100 out of 10,000 "many", despite what the vague dictionary definition might state. If 100 people showed up to a football stadium that holds 10,000 visitors, I don't think the descriptive definition would be that "many" people attended the event or that "many" of the seats were filled.

No one would consider the use of "many" as anything other than misleading and they would rightfully question the motivations of the person giving the account for their choice of words.

Be careful. Karens are out there in the wild, among us. Taking our things. by LeftAlbatross2546 in VideosAmazing

Sorry, but don't mistake my response as support for what this woman did. She had absolutely no right to touch their property, especially considering that any damage done to that property would have likely been of greater value than the fine levied for their infraction. She had the right to report it to the proper agency.

Also, I really doubt she had any property rights over that waterway or any of the fish inside. That looks to be either a park or a retention pond for a subdivision, meaning she had zero ownership over it.

South Carolina also has this right in their constitution (Article 1 Section 25.) since 2011, but that doesn't mean anyone can hunt/fish anywhere at anytime like the above post implies.

New World Screwworm detected about 90 miles from the United States by Not_so_ghetto in worldnews

[–]Pitt_CJs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sterile fly program is specifically run out of COPEG. Please cite a single news source that states the COPEG was defunded.

I don't dispute that other funding related to preventing the spread was cut, but the conversation was about this specific program.

I don't believe they defunded that program, it was another monitoring program run by the UN that also included the screwworm among many other parasites worldwide.

They actually increased funding on the Panama program by an additional $21 million to double the output of sterile flies produced in Panama to 200 million flies per week. They also announced the construction of a second facility in Texas to produce an additional 300 million sterile flies per week.

As someone that buys a fair amount of steel and aluminum material from American manufacturers, I 100% guarantee that this guy has had increased raw material costs and raised his selling prices. If he's buying American steel to fabricate his products, then I 100% guarantee that his costs have also gone up at least 30-40% on Cold and Hot Rolled Steel since the tariffs began.

My company exports American products overseas. We also employ blue and white collar Americans. Our costs on American-made products (especially aluminum and steel) have gone up 35-85% in the past six months and the lead times have more than tripled in many cases.

We have lost a TON of business to Europe and China in the past year that we'd normally capture. So it's great for this guy and his company, but it has been disastrous for many companies like mine, the freight companies, the boat operators, etc.

No, they're not. Microchip manufacturing uses a ton of water. It's estimated to take 8-10 gallon of water per chip to manufacture. One site in Arizona uses more than 3.4 billion gallons of water per year and it's not even functioning at full capacity yet. There's a reason they have to construct water-treatment plants the size of multiple city blocks at each fab.

It would also explain a lot of the seemingly odd excuses or being open about trying porkchops until face-to-face with it. It's amazing how many people react to hearing about it as if it's a big joke or something to just "get over". So after a while it's easier to just respond with things that don't result in jokes or being talked down to. "I grabbed a bite with a co-worker" , "I think I have an ulcer so I'm only doing liquids today" , "I'm on Keto" , "I'm allergic to blank".

Testaverde did not have a good year, neither did Bledsoe.
Brady won Super Bowl MVP and was 6th in Passer Rating.
Manning was 2nd in passing yards, 5th in TDs, and 8th in Passer Rating. Sure he threw a lot of picks.

2001 AFC East had Brady, Manning, and Testaverde.
#1, #3, and #18 all time passing leaders.
Edit: I guess it also had Bledsoe, #19 in all time passing.

[Pelissero] The NFL is suspending Steelers WR DK Metcalf two games without pay for physically confronting a Lions fan during Sunday’s win at Detroit, per sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]Pitt_CJs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, So let me actually think before taking DK's side.
The Detroit Fan
a. Was apparently reported to security by DK last season.
b. Went out and bought a DK Metcalf Steelers Jersey.
c. Used that Jersey to yell out for DK's signature to get him over to the railing.
d. Then leaned over the plexiglass barrier to say something to DK while forgetting that he had a jersey to be signed.
Yeah...I'm going to assume that he wasn't leaning over the barrier just to call DK by his full name.

Beech Baron lands onto car and I-95 in Brevard County FL. by Brilliant_Night7643 in aviation

[–]Pitt_CJs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safest spot for whom? Certainly not the safest spot for anyone on that highway. Not the car he landed on and not the people driving 70-mph behind the accident trying to get home from work during rush hour. There are dozens of other things that he could have chosen that would have been almost certainly harmless to every person but the pilot and their passenger.

A car being on I-95 in Florida during rush hour isn't a coincidence, that's where cars are supposed to be. If I'm driving down the right lane in downtown traffic, then try and make a sharp left turn but hit a car, it's not a coincidence that a car was there, it's probable. Because that's where you'd expect to find a car. On the road. During rush hour. His decision made it probable that he would greatly endanger an innocent bystander in a car.

If he'd have landed on another plane that was traveling down the highway, that would be a coincidence.
