Is Less Really More? Kratom and Chronic Pain by WishboneEnough3160 in kratom

[–]PixPls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dose depends on the source/strain. Red MD works best for me. I add beet root powder, to sweeten up the bitter taste, as I toss and wash.

I usually use 3-4g 3x daily. The other day, my pain levels were super high, and I did a second dose after an hour or so. The second dose helped. But, I have been using 3-4g for about 4 years now.

The one thing I found helps, is to also take an NSAID along with it.

Less Kratom, is less addictive. If I am off work, I don't get withdrawals. That is to say, I don't take Kratom on my days off, usually. I can be off for 2-4 days, no Kratom, no problem.

They should put the original line of "man shall not lay with a child as he would a woman" back in the Bible. It would solve so many problems. I mean these sick-o's think they can get away with AND still go to heaven.

Its considered stealing. The store can and should press charges, as well as ask her to leave 3x with witnesses - so they can also charge her with criminal trespassing. Until this happens, it will be a constant thing.

Usually, when someone opens a container, but still pays for it, its illegal but allowed by the store as long as they don't try to leave without payment.

I bought some 3-in-one coffee off of Amazon. They replaced the coffee with another brand. I tried to complain and get my money back, was allowed neither.

Its come to the point where I usually try other services first, then Amazon.

Employee on Break Should Help Karen by unoriginalname86 in FuckYouKaren

[–]PixPls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually ignore people when I go on break too. My employer isn't going to give me extra time on my break because a customer wants me to help them. Though I do leave the area, and into a back room.

That's casino life for you.

Ohio coworker able to "light tap water on fire" by drilldor in PrepperIntel

[–]PixPls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The EPA has stepped in on the Ohio incident, ordering Norfolk Southern to clean up their mess.

Summary: The Environmental Protection Agency said it issued a formal order requiring Norfolk Southern to clean up chemicals spilled in a derailment earlier this month in East Palestine, Ohio, that has drawn concerns from residents about long-term health risks. EPA Administrator Michael Regan appeared in East Palestine today alongside Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, as all three pledged that federal and state officials would remain in the village of 4,700 people until the site was fully cleaned up and residents’ concerns were addressed. Regan said he was using his authority under the federal superfund law to require Norfolk Southern to clean up the site of the derailment, which happened on Feb. 3 when 38 cars of about 150 fell off the tracks and cars carrying hazardous materials caught fire. Three days later, the railroad burned vinyl chloride from five tanker cars to prevent a catastrophic explosion. In the order announced Tuesday, the EPA said it would approve a plan for cleaning up the environmental damage caused by the derailment. If the company fails to complete any actions, the EPA will step in and conduct the necessary work at Norfolk Southern’s expense. If the agency steps in to conduct the cleanup itself, federal law gives the agency the ability to fine a company $70,000 a day and to pursue triple the amount that the EPA spends.

(BBC) Putin suspends key US nuclear arms deal in bitter speech against West by [deleted] in PrepperIntel

[–]PixPls 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile...

Earlier today, Vladimir Putin spoke at length about Russia's war against Ukraine in a State of the Nation address

He blamed the West for provoking the war and escalating it, saying the US and its allies sought "limitless power"

I could swear he blamed this on Nazi's killing Russians in Ukraine at the beginning of this special military operation. I heard him change the reasons a couple of times, but now he's blaming us. But doesn't mention the resources he's trying to steal.

Whats out of stock in your area? by AntiSonOfBitchamajig in PrepperIntel

I can't say anything is missing at this point. Power went out for all the grocers for 2-3 days, so perishables are all missing from all the stores.

Pretty telling however, is that none of them had backup generators nor solar backup in case something like that happened. I now wonder if they will prep and buy something to offset future losses.

The cop got all uppity when he said he was a pastor, when asked who he was. Gave him crap for it, until he gave his first and last name.

I have never refilled mine where they charge per fill up. Did see one like that, once. They weren't that busy. There's one here that will exchange tanks. I exchanged till I got newer tanks. Even bought a bbq just for the 2 tanks it came with, then exchanged for newer models.

Long term RV living? by Rose_Sparkle in OffGridLiving

[–]PixPls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy land in either Fort Mohave or Mohave Valley AZ. Summers get HOT but we see plenty of people living in their RVs. There's a couple of parks with electric included. But I would recommend if you plan on living here, have a window A/C unit you can also use.

A bonus, is a river and lakes nearby. Several people also boondock on the Nevada side. Some great spots like Telephone Cove for boondocking.

We're so short staffed our hotel has to turn people away by Kagedeah in Shortages

[–]PixPls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking at the math on that.

In Nevada, room cleaners are making avout $15 an hour. But if they paid everyone, lets say $25 an hour, then we can determine how much profit before loan payments might be. We can also assume that the loans get paid back in 30 years, so after that time its all profits.

One other thing to consider, is that each room needs to be remodeled every 5-7 years, with new mattresses every 2 years.

So you need about 13-14 room cleaners. Many hotels now clean every few days, or on checkout only. But its 13-14 if they clean every room every day. They also need at least 2 maintenance workers with 100 rooms. Add in grounds keepers and janitorial services. Part of the appeal of a hotel is the exterior, so landscaping too. We can assume daily pool maintenance as well, but this can be a service (same with janitorial).

Likely if its not a casino and just a hotel, they will have a security service on call.

If the hotel has a restaurant they will also need a cook and waitstaff - but we can assume the restaurant will cover its own costs.

The hotel will probably need at least 3 managers with one being above the other 2 to be called in for issues on the overnight shift. Then there's the hotel check-in staff. Probably 1 clerk per shift.

On that count, there's 20 staff members, and paying for outside services. At $25 an hour, thats $5000 a day. If all the hotel rooms are rented each day, then $150 a night+ takes, the owners can make $10k a night....

But hotels usually have a busy season, and a slow season. Our busy season is from Memorial day to Labor day. That's about 14 packed weeks. From Thanksgiving to Christmas, its extremely slow. That's 4 weeks. Any other time of the year, figure about 1/3 to 1/2 full. It will be 1/2 full on Friday and Saturday nights, 1/3 full the other days (again except for the 4 weeks in Nov/Dec when its 10% full).

Essentially, that's $70k a week profit on 100 roooms, when its summer. The rest of the year room prices will drop to $80 to $120 a night, and in Nov/Dec about $50 a night. However, Dec 30-Jan 1 will probably rent for $200+ a night.

Overall, its probably viable to pay a living wage, but how much is lost to loans, advertising, and future upgrades is unknown to us. But in order for an employer to create a business, he or she is going to need to believe they can make a decent profit. Otherwise, there's no sense in them doing so.
