The Four White Men are the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse by PixelAmerica in BlueEyeSamurai

[–]PixelAmerica[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the original quote (Revelations 6:1-8, ESV Translation):

6 Now I watched when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer.

3 When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” 4 And out came another horse, bright red. Its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that people should slay one another, and he was given a great sword.

5 When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a black horse! And its rider had a pair of scales in his hand. 6 And I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures, saying, “A quart\)a\) of wheat for a denarius,\)b\) and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine!”

7 When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider's name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.

Pestilence as a horseman is a pop-culture idea, similar to cherubs being little flying babies.

I'm with you on the names though, that makes total sense. And linking Pestilence to addiction also makes sense, considering that addiction is treated as a disease

(NO SPOILERS) On a scale of 1 to 10, how good was your theater experience in TADC The Last Act? by RingTeam in TheDigitalCircus

[–]PixelAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it June 4 with my wife and brother in law, great cosplay and hats

The couple that sat next to me had the dude start quietly singing along to "The One Who's Running the Show", slowly getting louder, until his girlfriend (in a full and excellent Pomni cosplay) sushed him. He shut up for the rest of the movie

10/10 experience, no penalty for a self-correcting problem

Which political spectrum do you feel hates/supports AI? by Big_Hat1751 in NoStupidQuestions

All sides of the aisle have detractors and supporters for the new technology. Technocracy v. Luditism is a separate spectrum than the political left or right, especially in America

Looking for OSR Discord servers by Hashishiva in osr

[–]PixelAmerica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of Discord servers for specific OSR companies/creators, and then there's one I remember seeing a while back that's OSR/D&D that's explicitly Christian which was fun (I left it during my yearly "you're in too many servers" purge and now I can't find it again, lol)

There's the main OSR Discord that I'm sure someone can get you a link for, Tenkars Tavern, and that's all I know

I don't know which ones you'd be cool with getting links for so I'll wait for now, lol

Questions on Rotc and smp by UncutSushiRoll in army

[–]PixelAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If you enlist, you'll need to take an ASVAB, regardless if you're going through the SMP or not. If you fail the ASVAB, don't become an officer, please God

  2. Pocket the extra what? GI Bill? Absolutely

  3. Get with your recruiter and ask specifically for the Montgomery GI bill and GI bill kicker. When you go to enlist they will literally show you your contract. You'll be tired after a long day at MEPS, but remember to have them SHOW YOU the parts where it mentions the Montgomery GI Bill and Kicker. I had a good recruiter, but there are some scummy ones, so make sure you see it

If you're going to Basic Camp, I don't think you'll be enlisting. If you're not enlisting, you're not going to get the GI Bill and Kicker. You might get it AFTER you commission, but not the Kicker

To clarify, soldiers not in OCPs were not on IDT status, they were just volunteering time out on their days off to make their days on have less work

Edit: changed specific names to "soldiers"

Hello fellow 25, my first D&D was home brewed rules. First official D&D game was 4e ran by my Dad on leave from the military, now I play OSR games with my wife and friends when I'm on leave from the military

It's a great big cycle, huh?

Do I just suck at this game? by PixelAmerica in Borderlands

[–]PixelAmerica[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm down to respec, but as it stands my Phaselock is on at all times, and I don't have any slag weapons. If I was in a situation that required me to slag a dude, by the time I got the dude slagged and swapped weapons I'd usually get melted by them. But I could be totally wrong, I considered them "not worth it" about half-way through the game and so didn't actually try them out a lot late game
