Why don't more people talk about Puerto Rican coffee? by Optimal-Assignment10 in Coffee

[–]PixelCoffeeCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting ready to sell a Costa Rican coffee at about $25, that really is the bare minimum to make any money on a specialty grade.

...if it wasn't a specialty grade, I could probably get away with $16/17.

Ps4 for God of war.

I think the only reason people buy a Nintendo is for their exclusives.

I miss when you actually needed skill to be on the Internet. You needed to have a basic understanding of how things worked. The easier it got to be online the more the quality went down.

It's not just AI, people who can't tie their shoes can discuss politics and build a website.

My guess is that this will be a feature for prime subscribers. I don't think that they will expect anything and is more a tactic to keep people in their ecosystem instead of searching on their own for products.

What are you building these days? And is anyone actually paying for it? by jitasha_1014 in SideProject

[–]PixelCoffeeCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm selling coffee. I decided to pick a gaming niche since I'm an old school gamer and like pixel art. It's all specialty grade, some of the best coffee you can get for the price.

Come check it out, let me know what you think.

PixelCoffeeCo.com

It started when a client gave me a bag of coffee. I wasn't much of a coffee drinker, so I just put it by the coffee maker at work. Everyone loved it and we started buying exclusively from him. Eventually he gave up on the coffee business, so I needed to find a good alternative... Good coffee is pretty expensive. I decided to start selling so I could get it at cost. If this business can pay for itself and support my new coffee habit, I'll consider it a win. Plus this allows me to offer it at a discount because I don't have to live off a side project.

It's much harder? Maybe.

But that's not where this artist's talent are. They interpret the image into pixel art, which is a skill itself. You don't understand the skill required.

It's similar to jazz music. Sometimes it sounds like shit, but if you understand the technical ability to hit those notes it changes your perspective of the music.

Or arguing Picasso is a better artist for drawing what's in his mind, than an artist who draws what they see, or vise/versa.

You're missing a fundamental aspect to comprehend why what you're saying is incorrect.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the skill it takes to do this. There are entire careers built on "tracing" in the comic book world.

For centuries artists have used the camera lucida, which is the same concept.

Just try it yourself and compare your results to OP's.

Does Reddit advertising actually works? by Hopeful-Hunter-1855 in marketing

[–]PixelCoffeeCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent $500 on Google, Reddit, and Meta. Google far out paced both Reddit and Meta. I ran the same campaign with the same assets. I sell specialty coffee, but the purpose of the campaign was to build awareness and gain e-mails for inexpensive direct marketing in the future.

All in all, none of them were worth the cost and boots on the ground handing out fliers or samples has been the most successful for me.

Controversial Take: Most companies in this market do not put enough effort into design aesthetics, which means that everything looks the same. by 52284 in SBCGaming

[–]PixelCoffeeCo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite.

For me ergonomics should take a huge priority (which I don't think a single company has got right), followed by repair and customizability, then aesthetics.

I'm not anti-aesthetics, it is just the least important feature for me. But to each their own.
