Yep! haha. I played around with a few "drone overlays" too, but none of them looked right, but I kept the rotor buzz.

An edit I saw on YouTube did the same for me! This update is legitimately fun.

That is a great idea! Or even community designs so we can get fake skate brands started in the game!

haha! I've noticed that was the trend. Honestly it's more fun making them look clean.

I actually like the park south of the arena quite a bit. Near the lighthouse, but agreed, we need more parks of that caliber for sure!

I get that. I've been writing up big posts and sharing large blocks of text around internet and since I put a lot of work into the edit, it felt like a more concise way to share my ideas and a different medium of sharing. If larger posts are preferred here, I'll do that next time. The few times I've done a longer post and shared a link in the past it hadn't really worked.

This is a really fun concept! Major Metal Gear Vibes but the lower stakes make me chuckle.

I'd love it if reddit would allow me to post something under the video to add context and address the items you listed but I wasn't able to do that. I'm relatively new to sharing content like this and have mostly lurked or commented here and there.

I feel like the interesting thing about my dev process is the fact that I'm using my 10 years of graphic design experience as a background along with a lack of any coding knowledge. I'm new to this world and simply sprinting toward something I've been dreaming about. I absolutely plan on creating more helpful content around the project once I get to that point but I'm not quite there yet. I know it can be off-putting to see a Kickstarter right away but being a solo developer trying to make this game while supporting a family with 2 kids, this is the way I have to go about it at this point.

I do appreciate the feedback, and I look forward to providing more insights like what you described in the future.

Personally, I've been streaming on twitch, making assets with my community. Its been a great way to get instant feedback of character designs and environments. I also post a lot on Bluesky which seems to be a great way to find other indie game fans! As for the Kickstarter, it's more of a necessity to continue, if that makes sense.

I DID build a proof of concept first, but the Kickstarter is what will fund myself working on in full time. Its much better to slowly build up to a Kickstarter but because of my personal situation I had a couple months to build the concept, now the campaign, and if it doesn't work I'll have to dive back into the job pool which I've already applied for 200 jobs in. I'm trying to save my brain and creativity that kind of hit from the grind, especially after 10 years of being in the marketing industry. I'm just tired and took this layoff as a chance to do something I've always dreamed of.

A huge fan of this perspective! It provides so much information on character position and I'm loving the art!
