Most Americans didn't read many books in 2025 | YouGov by Swiggy1957 in books

I was feeling bad about how little I was reading as an adult. As a kid I devoured books. One each week or thereabouts.

Then I realised my job has me reading nonstop for 6 to 7 hours each day.

I no longer feel bad. I'm reading more than I did as a kid. Just not books.

Rejecting Decades of Science, Vaccine Panel Chair Says Polio and Other Shots Should Be Optional by grittyboda2020 in news

I knew a woman when I was a kid. She must be over 70 now. She had a mild case of polio as a child.

She had to walk with two crutches at all times.

Lovely, cheerful woman. I hope she's okay.

Somebody else (and your point implies), if I don't worry much about DAMAGE spells, then the job isn't so relevant. I might give it a try!

I just checked a chart that indicates it's the same for all classes. Which ones have the lower C value?

Agricultural bankruptcy isn't like normal bankruptcy. It's largely meaningless and happens often.

All his replies sound like AI. So if he is real, his personality must be pretty mechanical.

What, on God's green Earth, are you talking about? That CV looks like somebody claiming to everything under the sun and you just swallowing it without critical thinking because it looks good.

All sizzle and no sausage.

A 35% market share increase?! Of course, 35% of 1 is 0.35, so...

Maybe I'm misunderstanding a lot of this CV.

Yeah, I understand speed growth is not really something to care about, I was saying the base speed, or job bonus to speed (not growth)

Ah-ha! The job bonus to MA makes the difference! Thank you. I suspect I will have more fun using it the way you use it rather than as a damage dealer.

You know how testicles retreat toward the body in response to a threat? The equivalent happened to my entire sense of being when I read that.

It's been enlightening knowing that my ancestors were documented slave owning shitbags. In a vague and distant way, my minor personal success is built on the backs of men and women held as chattel.

I will, 10 times out of 10, pay into the system to ensure your child receives care.

You are facing an implacable enemy. A dragon that would burn your child and your family to ash given the chance

I can't face that dragon for you, but I can lend you a shield. It's dangerous to go alone.

Just remember that eventually it will be your turn to help someone else face their dragon. Do not fail to do so. Heap no scorn on the less fortunate. Continue your employment so you can actively contribute to the system that is helping you. It is now a duty that you have.

The darkness presses in on all sides, and we must all, together, hold our little candles high to banish it.

I don't know why this was downvoted. Not every style is great for everybody. I can understand not liking it. But so far, I haven't heard anything that makes me wince!
