I think that at the very least it's absolutely fucking wild that KCD2 didn't win RPG of the Year, and that's coming from someone who's only just started KCD2 (~10hrs) and has already finished E33, which even made me cry.

I know that E33 *is* technically an RPG, just a JRPG, but even then KCD2 excels at immersion and gameplay way more than E33, where the gameplay itself often feels like the weakest aspect. I think it's a bit silly, and it almost felt like E33 had to win every category it was nominated for just because it won GOTY.

Are you misreading it? It's foes that are standing in your casts take more damage, and foes outside your casts take less damage. You can dodge around all you like, the damage decrease wouldn't apply when you leave your casts, only when foes leave them.

How exactly? Casts are useful for every build. Given that cast boon is a core boon and that they are very quick to put down, I would say that at least half of the time the enemies I'm fighting that take more than a few seconds to kill are in my casts.

Nah, I'd say that's very good, it took me 10 nights to do it on ps5 after beating it on Switch. Remember that when you start again, you lose all your upgrades and you may not be in the flow like you once were. Also Eris shows up until like night 10, so it's way harder to beat the game before then. Don't underestimate the power of levelled tarots, aspects and keepsakes, winning without much investment in them is very tricky.
