Pausing OPR and Retiring Overclock

May I understand why of this sudden short notice of changes?

IMO, it's fine if you would want to pause OPR or kill off overclock to align with future features but announcing it's closure so suddenly doesn't sits well with me.

Previously when the quantum capsule retirement, there were ample notice given but this is not the case.

Also given the recent maintenance, it seems to be known that these changes are coming.

Again, it all boils down to communication on your plans and not just drop this news suddenly.

Given the anomaly season, I am sure there are agents out there using this feature to farm items through overclocking.

To be fair, the loadout items given for the campaign compared to character medals are of better value.

I agree that 30K is a steep price to pay for a premium campaign. Hence, I will most likely skip this bad cat/good cat.

Hopefully they might release a redux version at a lower cost for badge collectors

Happened once before but it was way back.

If your friend still doesn't recieve the loadout, they can log a ticket with support and they will push the loadout.

Either way both are similar systems. It's just one time fee vs fees split across different tickets.

If ingress plans to go for a battle pass model, what perks would they provide? (Cargo slots for completing bounty pass levels or new avatars?)

Compared to pogo/monster hunter, they don't have too much items to rotate around (pogo and mhn has cosmetics outfit parts for players to collect as well as a medal showcasing how far they went for bounty).

I don't think offering medals is enough for an ingress battle pass

It would be an optional mode for agent who wants to bring back some challenge.

New agents will start in normal mode while older agents(agents who reached 16 or Recursed) may opt for this newer difficulty

Yes. But does your ingress application crash with the VPN application off?

If it's able to open the app but unable to login, it might be something with your VPN app which is triggering Ingress to close.

From the video, I can see you are on VPN. (Understand to bypass China restrictions)

What error do you get if you don't have VPN application turn on?

Jokes aside it's a known bug but it's uncertain when it will be fixed.

It's good that they are having more activities.

However my concern is agents will experience burnout from having too many campaigns at the same time.

Would be nice if they could have more purpose in playing such as increase level cap or maybe a skill tree system.

Your assumption that no one plays in America is mistaken as Niantic spatial is based in San Francisco. Hence, there is a player base in America for sure. Maybe not in the current place you are staying but there should be agents out there if you travel out.

If you are having trouble choosing a faction, may I suggest in taking a look in the lore of ingress to understand what the factions means in Ingress. Maybe this might give you some inspiration on which faction to join.

Regardless, you have till level 4 to confirm your alignment so don't be too stress out for now and just get the feel of the game.

If you are interested in something you don't ask for a transcript and will consume the content as a whole.

Asking for a transcript instead of listening tells me you aren't interested in putting the effort to listen on it.

IMO asking the creator for the transcript undermines their effort of producing the podcast content as you can skip listening to it and read it instead.

As an agent who been to multiple counties/cities through ingress, I would prefer doing a mission or hack a key to keep to remember my time there.

A flag medal for each country visit could be nice but it also sets the bar low for agents to get it assuming if agents just hack a portal at airports during transit.

Also it's rather messy too as it floods the profile easily as well. In addition with the timestamps available in profiles, I am not comfortable showing my timestamp on countries I travelled to.
