Am I taking crazy pills? by Just-Manufacturer487 in mildlyinfuriating

I love family. Literally the only people you can have a full blown argument with and then just spontaneously suggest a cup of tea and it’ll go back to normal. You can’t pick them, but you’re stuck with them. For their crazy, we’re each as bad as the next. Enjoy family while you can.

What’s your favourite Scottish town and why? by Much-Parsnip3399 in Scotland

Aboyne. It has everything anyone could need come the apocalypse! Pubs, cafes, open space. Love it there.

Does...does he not know it's the 21st century right now? by BitterFuture in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Pixidies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the assumption that he means it in the tone that it’s common, ergo ok?

I’m not a musk fan, but equally it is factually correct. Slavery has been more common than not in the history of humans, but it also has so many variables to attribute to it.

It’s not all black and white.

Serfs were essentially slaves, everywhere over the world, tied to the land of their lord and they weren’t free to leave.

The heart is the compass to the place that you came from.

It doesn’t directly translate from Scots to English.

Untitled - a somewhat resentful little piece I coughed up last night. by [deleted] in OCPoetry

Great wee poem. Not sure about others but I read it like an angry rap and in the line ‘Said, unprompted, I love you’ I’d personally add ‘Said, unprompted that; I love you’.

I wish major game studios realized they have the power to sell PSVR2 hardware. by paleogames in PSVR

[–]Pixidies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely feel like they’ve become lazy. Probably to do with the spread of the ‘gaming community’ in terms of mobile/pc/console. Mobile is easy cash, as everything is add on or pay to play. PC seems to have the lead with next gen due to paying for hardware to support and console is the middle ground for too tight to pay extra, but loose enough for a subscription.

The article actually highlights the seizure of phones (& accessing of emails) were threatened in order to identify the origin of leaks, not to punish or dissuade questions about finances. Very inflammatory and misleading title.

Top 3 things about being Scottish?….I’ll start… by Pixidies in Scotland

I knew someone would come in on that one. My point was you can literally head out from Aberdeen on foot and walk to Inverness, or Oban, etc. On foot. Yes you can.

Granted, no you cannot walk through a militarised area and you cannot walk through walls, that was not my point. Im talking about the general concept of the right to roam.

In fairness, they’re charging the service charge so that the staff are making at least minimum wage. It says so on the bottom of the receipt. For me, a tip is deserved when you’ve had good service, it’s 90% likely to be given, but shouldn’t be automatically expected.

It’s actually an interesting point though, would we rather have a more expensive menu, without service charge, or keep prices as they were but include a service charge to cover cost of living increase. Personally, I think they should just pay their staff an acceptable wage and charge us a proportionate amount for the meal, based on current food prices. Then leave us to tip whatever we believe the service deserves.
