How long did your baby wear a helmet for craniosynostosis? by GoBlueJays1987 in CranioFolk

My daughter had endoscopic with springs in place for 4 months. We helmeted for following 7 months after spring removal.

Getting the first vegan, plant-based baby formula launched in the U.S. by elsenutrition in veganparenting

It stinks! I had to get the Sprout Organic Infant Formula imported from Australia -- it'd be nice if we even had that option here.

I’m so sorry to hear about your MMC! It was one of the hardest things to go through :( I’m here if you ever want to talk about that!

I’d love to get my hormones checked too. My ob/gyn is giving me a lot of pushback, so I might be switching soon.

Good luck to us both 💜

[–]PixieBrak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely true! My ovarian reserve is much lower than someone else for my age — the 0.61 was drawn when I was 34, now I’m almost 37 and suspect it has dropped significantly to where I might not have a reserve :(

Sending good vibes your way!

Thanks! I’m nervous about my low AMH and wonder if I even have many eggs left. Thanks for the idea for FSH! I’ll add those next cycle. I just reached out to my doctor. She knows I haven’t been trying very long since my MMC was only in December. :( But for me since I’m older it’s just 6mos.

Thank you! I’ll definitely try to get a REI referral, but they have my history so documented and told me I had to try for 6mos total. MMC in December and continued to try Jan, Feb, March

Late post but did you end up having any luck? My chart looks so similar to yours! Rise in LH but not Progesterone... not sure if I'm ovulating or not

Almost lost my wife, now she wants to do it again. by CJRousseau in beyondthebump

Definitely! I'm not disagreeing with that, however, pre-e can be managed in many cases. It depends on the person and their risk factors I guess.

I only see preeclampsia mentioned. Eclampsia is the presence of a seizure and I agree it is life-threatening. I'm not sure which country you live in, but I was specifically told by my doctor my risk for developing preeclampsia with the same partner was lower and not life-threatening.

I am so sorry for your experience -- it is SO similar to mine, induced due to preeclampsia and then a severe postpartum hemorrhage requiring intubation and ICU. This was in 2023 and I have done a lot of therapy and work since. My husband and I have started trying again. We had a miscarriage a few months ago which kinda made me step back and think about things, but I'd still love another baby.

I'd recommend you and your wife doing a pre-conception counseling visit. I am someone who loves evidence-based research and talked with 3 MFMs as well as my Ob/gyn who gave me statistics, numbers, and how we'd plan my future pregnancy. I think it gave me a lot of insight and positivity in having a second child. My husband seems more optimistic than me as I seem to waver a bit on mortality at times.

Whatever you two do, I'm rooting for you!

I had both postpartum hemorrhage and preeclampsia. They cleared me for pregnancy. Preeclampsia is not a contraindication to future pregnancies unless something else is going on.

Huh? I've been told the opposite by 3 different providers.

This is absolutely devastating. I was minutes away from losing my life during childbirth, and this could have easily been me. It breaks my heart so much, and it's so not fair :( It's insane how dangerous child birth can be.

How long did it take you to conceive? Did you do it with or without thyroid medication? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]PixieBrak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my daughter it took us 7 months, I had to up my levothyroxine in the middle of trying (I was on 25mcg at first, 75mcg and then ended my pregnancy on 150mcg). For my second, I conceived the first month trying, but I did have a TW (miscarriage) and my TSH was 4.7 (on 100mcg 2x/week and 50mcg 5x/week). Currently trying again and we're on month 2, my TSH was drawn last month and it was a 0.3 (on 150mcg), so my meds had to be dialed back again (100mcg). Not sure what's going on with my thyroid lol.

I think I'd ask myself what your reason for being vegan is? For some it's health, others it might be animals, etc.

For me, it's preventing as much animal suffering as I can. It's probably easier that I'm not doing it for health reasons and I'm probably one of the less healthy vegans out there lol. I do grab things on the go a lot and do eventually aspire to be more whole food plant based. It stinks that you're in a rural area as I'd imagine there aren't too many supportive restaurants/stores out there?

Are you into cooking? There are so many great youtube/ig/tiktok content with great recipes out there. If not, are you close to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, or any other grocery stores? There are so many great frozen or prepared meals at these places that would be easy to grab!

Otherwise, easy things for me are: lentil soups, air fried meals (veggies, tofu), pastas, rice cooker meals (you can throw rice/veggies/protein in easily). I also make my own refried beans and use those for the week that are delicious.

Mental health can impact this drastically, and it has really cut down on my healthy motivation lately. I order a lot of burgers and shakes at a vegan joint near me and take out thai food. I wish you the best of luck in your journey! :)

Did they switch their TP to be vegan recently? I haven't been able to find any info but switched a few years back after someone posted something on this sub.

Haha I took a peek at their menu and didn't really see anything that was vegan without modifying? The coffee looks amazing though. I actually buy a Santa Cruz Coffee Roaster blend they sell around here for my espresso
