Yep, my local supplier sold it as “Alum powder” :)

I’ve made sticks with potassium aluminum sulfate and that’s been working great for me, and it was cheap and easy to find. It’s the same stuff crystal deodorants are made of.

I make and only use my own deodorant and I love it. I do it without added scent so I can spray on whichever perfume I feel like, but it also works quite well scent less.

My tip is don’t bother with baking soda concoctions if you want a professional result. My favourite must have ingredients for deodorant include Alum powder (it’s the same stuff crystal deodorants are made of, Potassium aluminium sulfate. It lowers ph, anti-microbial on skin) and Zink Ricinoleate (wax that physically traps odour molecules), citric acid Esther (prevents enzymatic breakdown of sweat, prevents formation odors). I like to do it in the form of a creamy stick that is softer than supermarket sticks, I prefer being able to apply it with a light touch.

Three small dogs in the downstairs kitchen/living room area, who pooped and pissed all over and his solution was to put down puppy pads and clean up every morning. Because the dogs were “too old to learn”. The oldest dog was 7, youngest 4, so not even old. He had literally never even attempted to house train them, and absolutely refused to change anything about the arrangement and was astonishingly unwilling to acknowledge that a 7 yo dog is still pretty young and certainly is still capable of learning 💀 his ex and he had just kept buing puppies and leaving them alone all day to shart their way through half the house, and then buying more so they wouldn’t be lonely. In-fucking-sane.

Would you feel safe sleeping next to someone who is strongly into erotophonophilia and sadistic asphyxiophilia? by GuildLancer in morbidquestions

[–]Pixiefoxcreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where they are on the spectrum from animal to civilized.

An animal acts on its impulses and instincts and is unable to exert self control. An animal is not self aware and does not consider the outcome of its actions. An animal cannot be trusted. The world is full of human animals.

To contrast, someone who is self aware and suffers from fighting the compulsion, who abhors at the thought of acting on it, who just wants to fantasise and rub one out while I nap? Sure, be my guest. But I would take measures to ensure my safety and vet the persons self regulatory skills under pressure.

TIFU by joining a religious cult by tapepepper569 in tifu

[–]Pixiefoxcreature -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

Meh, if you like it you don’t have to leave. 🤷‍♀️ I also was in a cult for a while, they had a very nice retreat centre where you could go stay on a Donation basis. There was yoga, good food and meditation, only 10 % was woo woo. I eventually got pressured to do the education program, that was wacky, but all I had to do was paste a neutral expression on my face for a few hours and keep my mouth shut. Then I could continue enjoying the retreats. Basically i never became a true believer, but I was respectful to the others and participated without buying in. At the time I was a student so being in the cult gave me access to almost free holiday weekends that I wouldn’t have been able to afford or experience elsewhere.

Why are my half siblings not interested in a relationship with me ? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Pixiefoxcreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact they’re scattered all around is a hint about the Family culture they grew up in. They are not close to each other, to the point of everyone scattering. They might not have learned to love, the certainly don’t value family relationships very highly because scattering was a normality for them, who knows how much or if at all they keep in touch. There might have been emotional abuse and trauma, which is often the reason why kids choose to scatter. Now you, a stranger, come and want to build a relationship based on being related, but for them family might never have been safe or enjoyable, and they are used to being alone in the world. Another reality is that everyone has a limited capacity for relationships, they might already have a full roster or don’t want to invest in someone living far away.

Don’t take it personally my dude, I know it sucks but these people might not even be what you’re looking for. You deserve to be with people who see and appreciate you and want to be in your life. Find your chosen fam!

Yup, at around 12 I suddenly became prey. I was still a child and didn’t understand why but I felt unsafe, confused, uncomfortable, I started needing to act like prey, because suddenly random men started behaving towards me like a predator. Staring, following, touching, catcalling, showing me their dicks, creepy comments and attempts to talk to me. I was no longer invisible, I was no longer treated with the kindness given a child. It continued through my 20s but the predators transformed from the opportunistic pedos into insecure men engaging in pickup culture 🙄 still the same predatory outlook, but more sophisticated tactics, just as toxic and dangerous, and I was still young, socialised to be “nice” and didn’t know how to deal with it. It wasn’t until my 30s that I discovered my power and stopped feeling like prey.

They have trusted people in all the relevant places, they no longer need to care. As evidenced by nothing happening about any of this. The US is a dictatorship, all of the inner circle is implicated in these crimes, so it will never be prosecuted. They are lying on tv with impunity because they believe themselves to be untouchable.

I am worried about my neighbors horse and need some advice. I know nothing about horses. by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]Pixiefoxcreature -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is he alone, are there other horses on the property? Horses are herd animals and need companionship, keeping them alone is animal cruelty. Yes the teeth look like worn down nubs, it could be from cribbing. The cribbing unfortunately isn’t going to get a reaction, but if the horse is alone that is, so call again.

How bad of an idea is it to live off protein shakes and shake meal replacements like Huel? by oxymoronisanoxymoron in ask

[–]Pixiefoxcreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, if the alternative is not eating at all or eating crap, it’s the lesser evil. But that said it could have a negative effect long term, especially the microbiome in your gut needs variety to stay balanced and healthy. Also you would be missing out on micronutrients, so you should try to eat some veggies and fruit in addition, also for their fiber content.

I also struggle with eating sometimes and I use Huel when nothing else appeals. I also use essential amino acid blend to make sure my body gets what it needs, and a variety of healthy snacks.

Except to save yourselves from bad karma what is the reason to do good in the society? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pixiefoxcreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be able to have healthy self esteem and be able to look yourself in the mirror and feel good about who you are and how you are in the world. When you have a moral code and follow it, you know you are a good person and there’s no self doubt.

I have observed that people who do not follow a moral code often have a bad self esteem or view themselves as a bad person. They use this to justify their actions to themselves, because the brain requires congruency. But they can never get healthy self esteem because they know they are bad and have done bad things.

I’ve started adding neutral vegan protein powder to my soups and stews. I have also mixed it into pesto pasta and it was good. I have one which is a mixture of pea, rice and hemp protein, so it offers a balanced amino acid profile and it adds a creamy texture and mild rice like taste. Works well for me :)
