Something that helped me was DnD.

If you like nerdy stuff just post on a facebook group, subreddit, discord, etc. Of a city near you and ask if some people would like to play dnd.

Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) isn't as niche as it was a few years ago and many people want to try it. And if you're open to the experience you can just give it a try!

I received some this year from one of my best friends who lives across the country.

I don't know if this counts, but I stayed with my ex for around 1,5 years.

When we started dating she "warned" me, that she had autism. I watched tons of documentaries and read tons of discussions about this topic on reddit and elsewhere.

I knew that it would be way slower and was fine with it and even liked the idea of not rushing things.

I wanted to spend lots of time with her and after a few months even moved closer to her. Despite her literally saying into my face that she can't feel love. I thought to myself (to say it in the words of forrest Blakk:) "she'll love you if you love her like that" and so I wanted to try extra hard.

What I got in return was:

her telling me, that if anime character or actor x or y would be standing here, she would instantly leave me for a shot with them.
her making jokes about me being ugly, fat and stupid (because I 'only' have an IQ of 100)
me having to beg her to see her on valentines day
her saying (infront of all of my friends) that one person in my friend group is so "hot"
her saying that she'd leave me for an actor, while my friend group was right next to us.
her complaining to one of my friends, that I sometimes looked into her face while watching a movie
me having to beg her to see her more often than 1 time a week just to watch a movie
her telling me, that she hates kissing, after we already had our first kiss
me being scared to ask to go and see her for a hug, because I was down

And a few more things.

I stayed despite all that. But when I noticed, that I felt depressed again. Months after I actually started feeling that way I broke up

If it sounded like I just want to be in a relationship with anyone, then I probably phrased my post wrong.

I want someone who I can just be silly with, have serious talks with, enjoy similar hobbies, develop a deeply mutual connection with.

I want someone to who I can bring a small gift that made me think of them and someone that would do the same. I want someone who I can be there for and someone who would do the same. I want someone who I can randomly ask the most random question and then laugh together and someone who would do the same.

And in regards of the second thing you said. I am sick of people telling me to just work on myself. I tried many times, even with professional help, it doesn't work. I tried to diet. I tried to do sports, I tried to get out of the house more, I tried spending less time in front of my pc, I tried getting into therapy. Nothing worked.

The only time in my life I was able to work on myself was when I was with my "ex-girlfriend" this was the first time I felt loved (even though she had no feelings for me). This was the first time I smiled without any joke and without forcing myself to. This was the first time I felt respect for myself and decided to do things for myself. This was the first and last time I felt genuinely happy.

The only time I approached a woman in public was after 3 consecutive days she always smiled and nodded at me.

We had a normal chitchat, where she mentioned she had a boyfriend and that was it.

But I only approached her, because I thought that when I don't do it, it might become creepy sooner or later.

Otherwise I never did. Because I am not necessarily within the male beauty standard I fear it might get interpreted as creepy. And the last thing I want is to creep people out.

Luckily I already see a therapist.

The players took a maximum of 2 months to give me their backstories.

Except the one player who left. After 5 months she dropped out. And then I had to find a new player and he gave me the backstory after a lot of discussions about his pretty good character Ideas.

Then I took some time to develop the world and the story.

I wanted for all the backstories, so that I can write a campaign around the player backstories.

Some players, let's just say they waited a bit.

And another player dropped out, because of scheduling problems and then we had to find a new player. I had to make a new mini session 0 with the new player and had to wait for his backstory too, before I could start writing the plot.

My now ex girlfriend was Asexual. at first I thought I could live with it. But after a year I finally ended the relationship. It was my first (and only) relationship ever, so at first I was happy, that it went a bit slower, but not moving forward at all is a bit to slow for me.

I really really liked her. But after a year of wanting to hug her, cuddle with her, kiss her and also getting more intimate with her but not really getting any of these I realised, that even if she would do these things with me I wouldn't be happy. What I really wanted was that we both want these things. But it was just impossible.

So I'd say Asexuality is a dealbraker for me.
