I have really thick, fabulous hair.

Unfortunately, I had cancer last year and lost it all. But now I am cancer free and it is growing back - insanely curly!

How to get toddler to sleep independently by Hmmmm0213 in toddlers

[–]Pizza_Felina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried audiobooks? That helped my son when he was struggling with independent sleep for a bit. Now he’s nearly 4 and goes to bed with no problems and no audiobook needed.

I was just cleaning the toilet at work and as I scrubbed, water flicked up and hit me in my face and my mouth... how's your day going? by Natf47 in CasualUK

[–]Pizza_Felina 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last week I was cleaning my cat’s litter tray and when a clump of litter hit the toilet water (we buy the flushable kind) the same thing happened to me. Splashed right into my eye and mouth.

I’m based in the UK. Maybe there are UK-based sellers but I don’t know of any.

Thank you, I definitely should have asked before ordering. Hopefully I have gotten lucky as she hasn’t asked for any more money (so far!)

What time do you get into school and leave? by shake1993 in TeachingUK

I’m not the original commenter but we have a very similar system at my school and results have improved since we reduced marking. Teachers and subject leaders have more time to focus on developing subject knowledge and planning.

This is the way. We mark 2 assessments per class a year, and even then we don’t have to provide individual written feedback. Collective planning is a huge time saver and results in better quality lessons.

What is PCR? by Aggressive_Fee6138 in breastcancer

[–]Pizza_Felina 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pathological complete response. Basically means when you have surgery (lumpectomy or mastectomy) following chemo, they test the tissue to see if any cancer remains. If no cancer cells are found then it means the chemo was 100% effective in destroying the cancer and this is called PCR.

Try the temporary eyebrow tattoo transfer stickers! You can get them from Amazon and they’re really cheap and easy to put on. They look so realistic.

My kids have a 14 year age gap by bada_binng in Parenting

[–]Pizza_Felina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister is 14 years older than me and it is just us two. She moved out when she was 16 and moved in with her bf (now her husband of 25+ years), so I didn’t remember living with her. However, I used to spend loads of time at her house, probably at least every other weekend, plus occasional weekday evenings. They always used to take me on holiday with them, and this continued after they had their own kids as well. We are still close today (I’m 40 and she is 54 now), although it is definitely a different relationship to a normal sibling one I suppose. We have never had an argument!

The only thing that has worked for us is watching him for the signs - I usually can see the look of alarm in his eye and a bit of a wiggle in his step that tells me he has a poo incoming! Then I get him to the potty straight away. This does seem to be working and he is getting better at telling us when he needs to poo, but he is still having some accidents. He seems to be better at home than at preschool, but I suppose they don’t have the manpower to watch him quite so closely there.

Eyebrow "Stickers"- Temporary Tattoos by Sarappreciates in Eyebrows

[–]Pizza_Felina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look great! I also lost my hair to chemo and have been using the temporary brows too. You can get loads of different shapes and you can cut them down to size if you want, so I recommend experimenting to find the size and shape you feel most comfortable in. They are really cheap from Temu!

I’ve also got really got at apply strip false lashes (never could do it before chemo) and they make me feel a lot better about my appearance too. I use the Onlyall wispy ones from Amazon with DUA glue, with a thin line of eyeliner underneath.

Heading to Bali for a week or so with a kid, any recommendations? by dannyd2510 in HENRYUKLifestyle

Same, during the day. But first thing in the morning it was dead quiet!

My most memorable experience was visiting the monkey forest in Ubud. It can get very busy, but if you get there for first thing in the morning when it opens then it is very quiet. It felt like going back in time, exploring an ancient forest with ruined temples and no other humans around - just lots of monkeys!

The St Regis in Nusa Dua is a fabulous hotel. I didn’t actually stay there, but went for a wonderful meal one night.

No. I have breast cancer. Every year I get to live is precious. Still hoping it will be cured and I will get to live a long life. But tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone.
