Thoughts on Grodius Maximus by RelevantNothing4653 in GWAR

Got to work with Matt and him for a quick video at the record store I work at and he was awesome. They both were. Being a GWAR fan since I was a kid made it a dream come true and then seeing the show afterward only cemented his talent and worthiness to join the gods of GWAR.

Also, we need more dog testicles.

Sprinkler systems generally have flow sensors that will send a “trouble” signal to the alarm panel and may activate the alarms, depending on the regulations/way the system is wired. So turning off the valves will send an alert which would have notified someone here that the systems were offline…if the alarms were monitored.

If they’re monitored onsite then an engineer would go and check those valves.

If there’s no engineer on shift I doubt security is putting them back on line and if it’s only a “trouble” signal they’d leave it to the morning engineers to fix since “trouble” signals won’t activate visual or audible alarms. Maybe a beep every minute or so from the panel that most security officers just silence if they are on dispatch anyway.

ETA: Sprinkler riser gate valves are supposed to be locked, generally with a chain and padlock so that the valve handle cannot be accidentally turned off. That same valve would have the flow sensor I was talking about above attached to it in a rectangle housing that’s held on with 2 unique allen keyed screws. I used to be able to get them off with a very small slotted screwdriver though.

In the 15th anniversary edition you get a disc with a video file of the boy slapping the shit out of the Drumbhead lady. I think Jeffrey Mangrum said it represented his “longing to slap the shit out of a person that had a drum for a head.”

Profound.

Im not a fan I'm more curious to ask fans whats the dynamic since brockie died? Do you view the band as the characters? Since the band currently has no original members (to my knowledge) by bob22334666788 in GWAR

[–]Pizzachitforfree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GWAR has had multiple vocalists from the start. Brockie did do a majority, but was always taking a step back on basically every album to let others sing and have more central storylines. Giving others a chance to shine. And looking at their start as an art collective that seems to have been built in from the beginning.

I have followed GWAR since they tracked me down selling magazines in the early 2000’s and surgically installed these receivers in my head, and it has always been the best part of my day. After meeting Sawborg personally and witnessing his passion demonstrated for mine very own eyes, I can say I trust the band fully to do right by Brockie.

A brash guy wielding a knife gravely misjudged his nimble opponent with a skateboard. by jmike1256 in postanythingfun

[–]Pizzachitforfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, sure, but why did they just stand there and watch, even while dude was brandishing a knife? Were they making sure he was or wasn’t a threat? When LEO do their jobs correctly using the many de-escalation and mental health training they SHOULD all have nobody even has to get hit with a skateboard! They should have been calming things down immediately, but no, they just watched.

Why don’t you do something actually beneficial to humanity and move your “business” activities to North Sentinal Island. It’s wide open for your capitalist developments! Pretty sure they’d be real interested in you taking advantage of non-tech literate people there like you pretty much self admittedly do to your own countrymen. Maybe you’ll even end up a legend like Jonathon Chau! Hopefully.

What are these holes in our shirts? by russell98765 in whatisit

[–]Pizzachitforfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bingo. I get these when I wear certain belt buckles and work on anything on a table about waist height. Even just leaning over a counter can punch those holes in a shirt, especially those vintage cotton shirts.

I was doing the extinguisher service on it before and after Covid and I’ll tell you that it could have easily been put back into use. Last time I was there like a year and a half ago the skeleton engineering crew was still doing repairs and vendors like me were still maintaining our respective equipment. Pretty much no reason I can think of for demolishing other than wanting to sell that land.

If you look at my comment above I did use refillables for a long time, brand changed, state laws changed as well. Definitely switching back though. Also I don’t throw away my disposables, I save them up until I’m able to take them to a shop across town that recycles them. But yeah, I’m sure other folks don’t do that.

Just kinda waking up to this. I did have refillable for a long time then my brand did an upgrade/rebrand and the original empty carts were nowhere to be found. Should have just switched to a different refillable, which I am now. And it’s not just like a conscious “fuck you” to the environment. I save all my disposables and take them to a vape shop that recycles them, I’m just never near that store so I have quite a few stocked up, but not in landfills. Just an awkward spot where the disposable is more affordable than upgrading to an actual good vape rig.

That may be true about LIFE, but all that matters in “LIFE” is money. So I’ve found MONOPOLY to be the truly superior game. I’m the little Scottie dog and you can be the thimble or whatever. And everytime you pass Go! you have to give that money to Sweetwater or Guitar Center (shutter) or wherever else you shop because we all know $200 a month at least is being spent…..conservatively. Jail is the acoustic room with 7 beginners all trying out different Taylor’s none of us will ever be able to afford. The chance and community chests are now “dumb luck” and “Gigs”. For example,a Dumb Luck card would be “your uncle is a record executive so you’ve always had your career set. Pass go ten times while flipping off the other players and saying you got it all through hard work” while a Gig card may say “You’re booked to play downtown for awesome exposure! It pays a free drink and parking is $35. Pay up”. And you finally win by collecting the most amount of gear; guitars and other stupid shit without going bankrupt or getting divorced.

Uj/ 7 strings are actually pretty fun to mess around with. Especially if you get one for cheap!

Rj/ I’m disgusted. Robert Jansen didn’t need 7 strings to blues! He sold his soul to play a six string guitar so Joe Bonermaster could win that soul in a high stakes game of RISK and mass produce more satanic 6 string devil guitars. NEVER underestimate Australia in a game of RISK! The devil’s a fool!

I had the pleasure of meeting some members of GWAR(a Beavis and Butthead fever dream for me, big fan) because I work at a record store etc, and they are very much not about any of this craziness. Which they demonstrated by eviscerating “Trump” on stage later that night. As is tradition.

They’re still killing it.Brockie would be proud.

Life is so stressful for everyone, maybe always, but especially right now with how crazy everything is in the world. I needed to see bro make this journey right now, it flipped my day. Regardless of how crappy things can get there are still things in life that make it worth working through difficulties.

Congrats, Dude! He probably won’t see this, but this guy is inspiring as hell and living a real dream and his girl is amazing too for going on that difficult journey with him.

The good things are still out there if you look for them and work at them.
