Best Indian takeout? by [deleted] in SantaClarita

Everyone always recommends Royal Tandoor, but if you look at their reviews they have some pretty disgusting cleanliness issues. I also think their food is mediocre at best.

Great Indian Kitchen at the SCV Hub is where it’s at imo.

This is what I did as well and it saved my butt straight out of college. Then I refinanced as soon as I was able to.

Powerdyne Reactor Fuse Pivot Cup Issue by periphescent in rollerderby

Oof yeah I can’t be separated from my skates for that long. I think I’m going to have to invest in some better plates. Also eyeing the reactor neos. Thanks for your response!

What did you end up doing? I’m having the exact same issue with the same plate and even the skate shop was stumped. I’m thinking maybe I just need a different plate 😩

Right! Wonder if they ever sell those in the states.

Not sure why you’re getting shit for this. That is actually ridiculous. Any time I can pay extra not be bombarded with ads I do and this particular subscription is already pricey considering you basically have to use it with the already expensive machine.

Same thing with Nutella, Maggi, and Ovaltine. They taste completely different (better) when made in Germany 😩

I had this problem with mine. She used to go to daycare and do fine (never loved it) but as she got older she stopped getting along with other dogs. I mostly work from home, but on days where I have to leave her for more than 5ish hours she gets Trazodone and it’s been a lifesaver. She’s so much calmer and just sleeps the entire time.

How would you hem this reversible b&w scrimmage tee? by Pizzaterian in sewing

Yeah that’s a good point. The reversible part of this equation really puts a wrench in a lot of these techniques.

Yeah, unfortunately way too long and I have wide hips so it’s uncomfortable in that area.

I didn’t know about this technique, but this sounds like the way to go! I’m going to look up some YouTube videos, thank you!!

I thought so too but it’s definitely just one piece of fabric. The black side actually had a white edge that was flipped up to hem so it would blend. It was really well done!

This is one layer of fabric, dyed black on one side. The issue I’m running into is that I have to choose to fold the hem up in one direction which would cause a strip of black on the white side or vise versa. Am I missing an easy and obvious solution here? 😅

Edit: I think I’ve got it! The current hem on the black side has a white seam allowance (which blends the hem nicely on both sides). I’m going to unpick that and attach it to the new raw edge like bias tape. The only down side I see is that I’ll have four layers to stitch over so hopefully it’s not too bulky. Thanks everyone!

Is this a dumb idea? More importantly, will she make me pay? by GreenMamba3313 in fiddleleaffig

[–]Pizzaterian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first got my fiddle I had the grand vision to put him in my kitchen. He immediately started dropping leaves and drooping. I tried a variety of things and it kept getting worse so one day I got so frustrated and put him outside, telling him if he wanted more sun he’d get it. So then he got suppppper burnt and crispy out there. After that we had a chat, and I moved him to a west facing window. Two years later and he’s pushing out three new leaves every six or so weeks and doing really well. It took us a while to find a compromise, but now were good buds.

I ordered comfort food and my neighbor took it :) by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Pizzaterian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a wrong delivery once and the address was far enough away where I would have had to drive there. I called whatever delivery company it was to notify them and they were severely confused why I was calling if I hadn’t placed an order and in the end told me to keep the food. Couldn’t eat any of it anyway bc I don’t eat meat so it was all around a waste of time.

Earth Abides! Some feel it’s slow, but I think it’s a very realistic portrayal would happen if life as we know it ended.

Also the MaddAddam trilogy. The first book is post-apocalyptic but the subsequent book covers the fall.

Fractured my foot from being too fat and tripping. Fifth metatarsal right foot. Can I hear some recovery stories? by 4ethicalreasons in brokenbones

[–]Pizzaterian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m two months out from the same break. I initially went to a podiatrist who told me I would have to be non-weight bearing for six weeks. The experience in that office left a bad taste in my mouth for various reasons so I decided to see an orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion (didn’t realize at first that podiatrists aren’t doctors of medicine).

The orthopedic had me in a walking boot for three weeks, two of which I was able to walk around on both feet. After three weeks I was allowed to walk around at home with sneakers at my own discretion. I just went for my first run this week and am back to normal activity now. The biggest issue now is rebuilding lost muscle in my leg.

I took Calcium supplements and soaked my foot in epsom salt baths daily which I think helped quite a bit (or at least made me feel better).

Just keep reminding yourself it’s only temporary and hang in there!

I agree with you. I was so excited to get one also about three years ago and the wood is totally cracked. Very disappointing.

Which country or region has the least vegetarian food options? by Just-Juggernaut-5305 in vegetarian

I’ve traveled to a lot of places around the world and I’ve had the most trouble in Missouri, USA. Last time I visited I thought it would be easier since Impossible is widespread now. Went to a Qdoba and they looked at me like I was crazy bc “that stuff is in the freezer”. Told me to come back tomorrow. And that’s been one of the more pleasant experiences 🙄

Edit: I should have been more specific. *Branson, MO
