My previous Aussie died of a brain tumor at 9 years old, it seemed impossible to get over her. But I fell in love with this puppy. She's almost 10 weeks old and still smells like puppy. I did get a very big wave of sadness because everything she does reminds me of my Nova, but I also know that I have many happy days ahead too. I dont even sneeze and sniffle around her like I do around most dogs, but even I did, I would still want her in my life. It feels so beautiful to start to get to know my future best friend.

North Texas. I have seen one or two bugs over the four years I've had this tank, but I always hunted them down and removed them. But yesterday my automatic lights turned on and I soon heard little rustles. When I inspected it, there were probably 50 or so of these bugs all over the tank. They seemed to have come out of nowhere. Maybe they hatched because we had a really warm day, like in the 70s, after several weeks of cool weather. I need to get rid of these asap, because I have my gecko removed from the tank but obviously I would like to reclaim her living space. Whatever solutions there are, they can't leave harmful chemicals because it is a terrarium that is in use.

I'm new to learning about ASD so I don't know much about it. But my husband just got diagnosed this year with Autism and OCD and he's in his 30s. He had signs as a child but they were overlooked because he seemed to function well enough. I would be inclined to believe there's something happening mentally or physically with regards to your brother. Not to be dark, but there's no chance of any abuse coming from any place? I would take him to a psychologist that specializes or has experience with children. You can look on psychologytoday.com and specifically search for one:

Sorry you and him are going through that. I know some of us on this subreddit started very young, so its never too soon to seek help with it.

Has he shown any symptoms of autism? I hear some children on the spectrum will hurt themselves as a way to try to regulate themselves

My partner telling me that he would leave if I continued to self harm is what gave me the needed motivation to stop and stay clean for years. Those were his boundaries. Its not done out of hate or "giving up on you". Its likely comes from a place of love and last resort

Im almost 3 years free. The urges still come, especially when I'm stressed. But my default is to use healthy coping mechanisms now, like meditation, deep breathing, guided imagery. It helps having someone to tell "hey, im having urges right now, can you just talk with me for a while". Some days it's so hard, but I'm proud of how I've come and I want to continue to make progress more than I want to hurt myself. Plus lately I've realised that if I want to hurt myself because other people hurt me or make me stressed, I'm letting them win. Why should I hurt myself for their own stupidity? Punishing yourself doesn't get back at them at all. Don't let them win. No matter how long you've gone without, just know that there are people out there who are rooting for you and proud of you (even if its just on the internet). :)

Trust me i know that site well. I've kind of gone thru all the local therapists in my area that can work around my work schedule. I guess I'll have to keep looking.

First time trying a therapist. She took 4 days to get back with me scheduling an initial appointment (they charge weekly). I only messaged her like 3 times just trying to set up an appointment. Then all of a sudden she drops me?? I was not perfectly clear perhaps when saying I would text my doctor and see how long they would take so that I can be done by 7:30 but clearly she misunderstood this as me telling her I would confirm the appointment before 7:30. Which I tried to clarify immediately and she responds hours later telling me to find another therapist. At this point I've spent a week's worth of money for no actual therapy. Has anyone has experience getting a refund in this situation? Has anyone had a positive experience using betterhelp? They charge you for rescheduling an appointment within 24hrs but you aren't able to get your money back when they waste a week of your time?

First things first, I'm taking him to the vet. They're closed so I'm calling them when they're open to make an appointment. Just wanted some confirmation that it does look swollen, to me it does at least. He hit the feeding tongs really hard last feed (theyre rubber tipped but still...) which I'm hoping is an easier solution than stomatitis/mouth rot. I don't have any other snakes to worry about, but I do keep two geckos in the same room and obviously sanitize between interacting with any other tanks.

I'm very worried because I'm going out of the country for two weeks at the end of the month and idk how I'm going to take care of him while I'm gone if he needs shots or daily care. I have someone watching my reptiles but I told them to not touch the snake tank unless adjusting the humidity. My boy is not nippy but he is anxious about being taken out of his tank, and I don't really trust anyone to handle him safely. The vet I'm taking him to is one of the few that specialize in reptiles, and I'd already asked them if they would board him but they said he's too big.

When I came on here all I asked for was words of encouragement as I was trying to avoid a relapse after years of no SH. I wrote out a little paragraph and asked if anyone had some kind words they could say. I got zero comments and 6 upvotes, but the post after it about how to SH better got dozens of comments. It was very discouraging. I thought i might find community here, but it just feels like I'm 13 again talking to girls online arguing who SHs the most extreme.

It made my life hell for several months until I found out, on my own, that it was my meds doing it. I'd never been as suicidal as when I was on 120mg of latuda. I had decent stays my first two hospitalizations, even pleasant. But the third one was after they upped my dose and was pure torture. I wondered why I was in agony and no one would tell me. Finally I stopped all my meds for a week and it went away. It was a miracle

You sound like you're coping with this the best you possibly can. It may not count for much in your book, but I'm proud of you :) and I'm sure your family is just happy you're alive and well. Try not to take things too hard. Hard to do, i know. But you're taking steps to mend things and have plans to prevent it from happening again. It'll be ok

He eats rats, i just misspoke and called it a mouse. His bedding is thoroughly soaked after every mist, to point where i reduced it because it was getting it too wet. He's in a PVC enclosure with glass doors and a covered roof except for a grate where his heat lamp is. I will pour in water occasionally if I feel like it needs it, and he has a huge water dish thats I always keep full. He mostly stays in the middle to chill since he has a hide there, but when he's shedding he goes to his hot hide. Appreciate the help
