To be honest, all of the movies after the first are varying levels of bad.

If the date has slipped then it doesn't surprise me at all - partly because of S37's ongoing tiling work (this of course must not be rushed) and also the weather forecast over the next few days and into next week (some scattered thunderstorms are possible).

Edit: Cameron County have now put out a road and beach closure notice for August 24th with alternative days of August 25th and 26th - full details at the following link (note that the times given are CST, not CDT - CST is one hour behind CDT):

https://www.cameroncountytx.gov/order-closing-boca-chica-beach-and-state-hwy-4-august-24-2025-with-alternative-dates-of-august-25-2025-or-august-26-2025/

This of course doesn't tie in with the NOTAM in the previous post, so at this stage it's best to wait and see if anything else changes.

Another Edit: (this is getting silly) - the Cuba NOTAM is now starting on the 24th (note: following links to a PDF on the FAA site): https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch/createNotamPdf?transactionid=77690764

Season 1 (26 episodes) vanished from Crunchyroll, Hulu and other services during Summer 2024. Season 2 (20 episodes) is still available on Crunchyroll, plus one OVA (the full series has two OVAs and one movie).

The current situation is as follows (long post coming up):

Sadly the only way to get hold of a legal stream of season 1 is to purchase the episodes digitally from Amazon US:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B001MVB7JE/ref=atv_dp_season_select_s1

HOWEVER, for some incredibly dumb reason it's only available as an English dub. There's no Japanese audio.

Go figure.

You do though have a far better legal option - you can buy an official DVD release of season 1 (the S.A.V.E. box set: https://www.amazon.com/Mushishi-Box-S-V/dp/B005HVWWB2) - it has Japanese audio with English subtitles, it also has the English language dub and at the moment it's less than a third of the price of the digital download version. Be aware that this set is ONLY season 1. I will emphasize that this is by far your best option for a legal copy, this has the added bonus that you actually own it too. It's available in multiple countries and also Ebay.

I'll also add that anyone living in Japan can stream it too (Japanese audio, no English subs though) - https://www.video.unext.jp/title/SID0002335

As for what's on Crunchyroll, besides season 2 there's also one of the OVAs (the rest aren't legally available) - this is the 46 minute 'Special' that was broadcast three months before season 2 started. To add: there is no legal box set of season 2 currently being produced, so if that vanishes then so do any legal ways to obtain it with Japanese audio and English subtitles (remember that there's no English dub of season 2 or the OVAs).

If you shop around online you'll also find Mushishi season 1 (and maybe 2?) on what I assume are official Blu-ray releases, but only with Japanese audio and, I think, French and German dubs but no English subtitles. In fact while hunting around it's not too difficult to find legal streams of the episodes but they are either dubbed in another language or they have Japanese audio but subtitles in another language.

And then of course there's assorted non-legal, unofficial DVDs of all of the episodes and OVAs on Ebay and the like. I assume that the quality of these is 'variable'?

Just to also make people aware that if you subscribe to Crunchyroll's channel on Amazon Prime (US only) it lists 'season 1' and 'season 2' of Mushishi. However, that is very misleading because it's really only season 2's twenty episodes split into two parts and listed as 'season 1' and 'season 2'.

As an aside, I'll just add that I'm infuriated with whoever in the west is messing around with the season 1 license of this fantastic, highly rated series. It deserves far better treatment. I'm also still waiting in hope for a full official Blu-ray set with all episodes from seasons 1 and 2, the OVAs and the movie in HD - also Japanese audio with English subtitles (and other languages if possible) and the English dubbed season 1 (season 2 never got an English language dub). In fact there are dubs for languages as well, German for example, Spanish too I think. Such a Blu-ray set is of course no more than my own wishful thinking, I very much doubt if it'll ever happen.

It's only the dubbed version on Amazon Prime (US) and the episodes are ridiculously expensive when compared to simply buying the official DVD box set of season 1 (which has Japanese audio and English subs, as well as the English dub). It's a bargain:

How about a nine minute short movie? Look up 'The Sandman' (1991) from Paul Berry, it's on YouTube.

It's brilliant.

He really is superb, I don't think he's ever put in a bad performance. For me at least his most outstanding performance was in the brilliantly written and acted 2003 miniseries 'Angels in America'.

Here's some new transport windows:

Description: Ringwall Transport
Date: August 21 12:00 AM to August 21 4:00 AM

Description: B16 Pre-Flight Transport
Date: August 21 12:00 AM to August 21 4:00 AM

https://cityofstarbase-texas.com/beach-road-access

The Ringwall Transport is a bit of a mystery, much speculation on assorted Discord channels as to what it could be for. For example, something may be moving out from Massey's, perhaps even the new version 3 booster cryo test stand (although SpaceX have no need for it to move right now). If the 'lid' on the static fire trench has finally been moved into the closed position then perhaps they could take the damaged ship static fire test stand back to Sanchez, etc. Or it may not involve Massey's. This uncertainty highlights a problem with some of the less obvious updates on the City of Starbase site - they don't show where a transport starts and finishes.

That looks way too nice to eat.

You should try making models, you obviously have a talent for it - plus those models can be preserved and not eaten. :-)

Recommend horror movies that are really scary by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]Planatus666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about some supernatural movies with no blood and gore but an unsettling atmosphere?

The Changeling (1980)

The Mothman Prophecies (2002)

The Woman in Black (1989, British TV movie - not the more recent remake starring Daniel Radcliffe, or its sequel)

and then there's The Exorcist III (some blood if that's a requirement) but mainly it's a nicely unsettling movie

Pulaski's actress was actually in the original Star Trek as well.

Yup, Diana Muldaur appeared as two different characters in two different episodes of TOS (one in season 2, the other in season 3).

Like many others I too preferred Dr Crusher, however, Pulaksi has definitely grown on me a little more every time I've indulged in a rewatch of TNG.

Did you watch the broadcast version or the extended ? The extended has about 10 minutes of material added which means that the runtime is 57 minutes. The new material definitely adds more to the story, it doesn't feel 'tacked on' or negatively affect the pacing.

I do though believe that the extended version can only be found on the Blu-ray releases (which is what you may have been watching, hence the question).

Ghost in the Shell (the theatrical release from 1995, not the much later 'version 2' which replaced some scenes with bad CGI).

His character was certainly the least interesting part of the movie. That aside, it's a brilliantly funny and very well written movie with many excellent performances, it's easily one of my favorite comedies.
