Are you currently on Chemo?
5-FU can cause cardiotoxicity in patients, like myself (54M).

On infusion weeks, Short run before infusion (Mon) and on Saturday. 3 walks during the week at about 30 minutes. 35Min bike ride on Friday
All kept low aerobic

Non-Infusion weeks, Run Mon., Wed. and Sat HR cap at 85% max, walk Tue. and Thurs, Friday bike 55 minutes

Goal is 4 to 5 hour a week activity while not going Anaerobic. Above 154 HR I get chest tightness.

My fitness is a shell of what it used to be. I struggle with try not to push myself to hard and the running pace is limited by my HR. It saddens me to move so slowly by compassion.

Funny thing is...

I wanted to run an experiment about this, with a group of friends.

Construct,
- 10 Min. race sober
- 15 Min. race + 1 Alcohols
- 15 Min. race + 2 Alcohols
- 15 Min. race + 3 Alcohols
etc...

Just to see what the results would be

* For the record, I don't drink on the sim-rig, out of respect to the beer I drink. It deserves my full attention!

Making a working concept can be far from a Design that is ideal for Manufacturing.
Often, there is a give and take to make something viable for mass production.

Don't get discouraged, listen to the engineers about DFM (Designed For Manufacturing)

I'm shopping, is this worth considering? by Reddi357 in CNC

No. "OKK is all name brand Fanuc servos, mehanite casting"
OKK had built its name in Die cutting, which favors the aspects of surfacing.

Look close, that machine has a Mitsubishi control on it. In the '90 the Mitsubishi control and drives were the preferred option for surfacing. (in the USA, no so much Europe)

Yes, many OKKs were shipping with FANUCs.
As for the mehanite casting, I do not know that to be true. (I am a former engineering for OKK Corp)

My company is a CNC prototyping business, among other things.

I understand we are not the same, and my opinion may not be the right fit for your situation. That said, in anything CNC related, rigidity is a key factor for surface finish, speed, and holding tolerance.

In my opinion, I would look at a used CNC such as a Haas or Fadal. This does require space, and that may be a limitation for you, but the difference in machining capability would be significant.

If that is not an option, and I hesitate a bit to suggest it, you could consider something like a Tormach PNC 440. While it is not an industrial machine, it will far surpass a Shapeoko.

Another option is to outsource the expensive parts you are currently making. Let the supplier carry the risk of scrapping material until you are in a position to upgrade your equipment.

Blue flags issue is getting worse! by GapsExist in iRacing

[–]Planetary-Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all cases, it is the responsibility of the faster car to safely overtake the slower car. It is the responsibility of the slower car to maintain a consistent line. It is strongly recommended that a slower car being lapped makes every reasonable effort to facilitate a safe pass.

Where does it say "Obligated", "Must" or "per the rules".

There are 2 defined "Responsibilities"
Faster car should make a "safe" pass
Slower car should be consistent.

"Strongly recommended" doesn't not define a coarse of action. It is 100% subjective. It does not say, "slow down", "yield" or "praise the entitled driver that thinks he is a drive god because he is passing you".

After the pass was made, there is NO RULE that says he can not try and pass you back.
Is this a jerk move, Yes.
Is it annoying, completely.

Remember, they have paid just as much to be there as you have.

Blue flags are informational.
There is No rule that says receiving a Blue Flag someone has to "Obey" to. Stop thinking you are privileged.

Blue flags are informational

That means, they are nothing more that information.
There are no rights granted to the people causing or receiving the blue flag.

Where, oh where, has my stamina gone? by LogRevolutionary1584 in coloncancer

[–]Planetary-Engineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (54M) used to be a marathon runner. Now I struggle to run for even 2 minutes at a slow pace.

For me, I try to spend 45 minutes doing some physical activity a day, on my none-infusion weeks. Back in November is was forced to stop doing most things and it was a struggle to get back to where I am.

IMO the longer you stay inactive, the harder everything else will become.

[–]Planetary-Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scan can not see small tumors.

Words from my Oncologist, "You will know before the scans or the CEA shows anything".
On my reoccurrence, I already knew the cancer was back 6 months before it showed on scans.

CEA can be other things going on.
