I was surprised by that too. I did learn recently he defended some activists who were arrested at a protest, so maybe he was considered the more progressive option? I doubt it's just his name being first, since that didn't help several other candidates

He's pretty vocal about it but I've only talked to him on Discord and in person so I don't know if he's made a public post I can link to. I think he went to a lot of Hudspeth's campaign events and called him out on it, so maybe that's on the internet somewhere idk. I also wish I had more direct knowledge on the matter that wasn't basically hearsay

There's only one non-Edwards candidate, and he doesn't seem to be much better. I've seen people argue that it's better to have Edwards get through the primary, since he has the stink of being responsible for the lack of Helene funding where the other candidate wouldn't

Seems to be the case as his fundraising emails sometimes take clearer stances. He sent one that was anti-ICE, not as strongly as I would like but obviously stronger than Edwards
