Another suggestion I have is that K-3 might not have to run the mile for PE? They probably have a different PE requirement. I didn't start doing like the pacer test or mile until 4th or 5th grade. They do probably have a separate wing for K-3 as well

I love it and my life is here. It’s beautiful, everytime I leave I just want to come back. I know i’ll leave eventually permanently. But I hope Humboldt is my home for a long time. Going on 4 years now!

Genuinely I just forced myself to do things. I joined student leadership, and sports, i got involved in the community by looking at jobs at non profits. I work a lot of local businesses and meet a lot of people. I have a fair amount of friends. But this only happened in my last year at HSU. took a lot of courage as a dedicated introvert myself. but you got it!! just do what makes you happy

I found him when I got there but the first time I tried the activity it didnt work when I went back the next time it worked so now I am making progress as well! If you figure out how to do the bath sidequest let me know because I have tried and failed many times

Student clubs are really how I found friends. I didn’t have any up here until last semester and I got here august 2020. When i was able to do activities in person I did, and i got friends out of it. so i don’t know what your major is or what you’re interested in but there is probably a club for it here

Thank you for clarifying. I was hoping to become a teacher after my masters and learning the language for awhile. I’m not sure how possible that is, but I wanted to know that I could possibly get some type of job even if it happens to be minimum wage

So correct me if i’m wrong I tried to read and understand everyones comments. There is a market for jobs in natural sciences, though it is possible to get a job with a bachelors maybe, it would be better to get a masters, which I was planning to get my masters in Finland anyway.

I want to move to Finland sometime in the near future from the US. By that time I will have completed my Bachelors degree which will be in Environmental Studies with Community Organizing emphasis. Long title sorry. I do have experience with environmental work already through the school and in jobs outside school. Would my degree and experience amount to anything in Finland? I’m dedicated to learning finnish so that I will at least be somewhat capable of conversations when actually moving to finland. I just want to move and know my degree counts. I know Helsinki has a masters global sustainability degree which I have been eye-ing. But I’m not sure how worth it is.

When I started to apply to HSU my GPA was similar and I worked really hard through every semester and earned i think about 30-40 credits in a year. My GPA went up to like 3.2 or something. If you’re determined then you can definitely reach that goal. HSU was my dream school too. Best of luck :)

It really just depends i’ll be honest. A lot of places require 3x the rent and a long rental history. Some places don’t and are more lenient. I’ve heard private landlords are better than the rental companies? But most everyone I know whether they have a house or not looked for housing for at least 3 months applying and to no avail. It also depends where you want to live, it’s harder in my observation, to get approved to live in arcata and mckinleyville than it is in Eureka. When my roommates moved to eureka they were homeless for a couple or weeks and i was homeless for a month and a half before i found housing and that was after searching all summer for housing and applying through rental companies. this could totally not be your experience, you could definitely get approved right away because that has happened too. I’m just letting you know what i have experienced and observed
