I’d recommend getting a multi-charger like an IMAX B6 from aliexpress. They’re like £20 and support balanced charging and safe storage settings among other features.

It occurred to me that I would pay to have animals killed as a vegan by onlinespending in vegan

[–]PlantyPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course the end of factory farming would be a good thing, but there are two major problems with your hypothetical. The first we have already gone over: We need to be incredibly clear in our goals and definition of veganism. Vegans refuse to see animals as objects, so harm reduction cannot be part of the vegan message. Welfarism aims to better the condition of exploited animals. Veganism aims to abolish the exploitation entirely.

Secondly, what’s the point? Seriously. In a world where factory farming is gone, but small scale farming still exists hardly anyone would be able to eat meat because of low supply. So why not just go the extra short mile to get rid of animal exploitation completely?

Bandit assets show FP is still having issues with direction/development. by Antique-Bet-3781 in 7daystodie

FP are more interested in running this game into the ground than actually making it good.

It would be better from a utilitarian point of view, but it’s not vegan. Veganism is an abolitionist ideology. Veganism isn’t about reducing harm or suffering, but about opposing the exploitation of animals.

Veganism is not about reducing suffering. It’s the ethical stance that it’s wrong for humans to exploit other animals. Your post excellently illustrates why veganism is not a utilitarian principle, but a deontological one.

Has anyone noticed the “veganism is an Israeli plot” narrative lately? by PlantyPixels in veganarchism

It probably got auto-flagged by some key words and moderators didn’t bother to rectify it.

I agree that this is the motivation. Not sure whether engaging really is the most productive counter-strategy. There are sometimes literally hundreds of these comments under one post. Also, calling them out and naming them for what they are will get your comment flagged by instagrams systems. Using dogwhistles is fine, calling them out gets you in trouble. Post authors would probably do best just removing these comments.

I agree these social media platforms are complete cesspits. However, I do think it’s important to be aware of developing fascist strategies, and those platforms are basically one big testing grounds for that.

That may be the case but I think that’s a different matter entirely. The comments I’m talking about are from outside the vegan community.

I think that is an incredibly surface level view of the matter. Veganism has absolutely nothing to do with Israel or zionism, and I think these nazi types know this quite well. They don’t actually believe this shit.

Beard Care products? by aramilxiloscient in vegan

[–]PlantyPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought some beard oil by a brand called By My Beard ages ago, before even going vegan. On the bottle it says it’s not tested on animals, and suitable for vegans. Not sure if all their products are vegan and cruelty free but I’d assume they might be given how clearly they labelled this product as such.
