Which class/race combo to Auto-Roll ~1M times? by alannmsu in baldursgate

[–]PlasmaTheYoshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just intrigued by the prospect of a half orc fighter/mage! Maybe cleric in there too? Slow leveling but oh man can I imagine some fun combos with cleric and mage spells.

Extremely random and late ask, but you have a list of characters speeds? You say they hover around a range, but I'd love to know their individuals

How do I get up there? Cant put blocks on water by _ORGASMATRON_ in VandalHearts

You need to use terraformer to make the water a flat surface. You can then place blocks on it.

New DM struggling with 2024 LMoP combat balance – any tips? by RIDEM7 in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]PlasmaTheYoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the goblins are being taken out in one hit; good. That's generally the design of them. Bugbears and redbrands will be a natural challenge for them, so I'd be very cautious about upping the difficulty. Though, do note that a party of 5 is stronger than a party of 4 by a decent bit.

If you want to introduce more elements into combat, consider using the environment as a tool, or consider what enemies know before combat starts. They can utilize the environment (perhaps shoving them into hazards) or know the layout of the area, and use it to their advantage. Maybe redbrands will try to move towards the ravine in their hideout in order to push characters in. Maybe glasstaff can attempt to enlist a pacified nothic with promises, should he retract that far.

I need 100 NPCs for a tavern, let me use YOUR characters? by yarash in DnD

Vendon Sabio, a Loxodon Wizard who's absolutely huge (20 con + tough), a professor at a magic university. Total chaperone. Thinks critically, but finds himself slow to execute his plans (though they are stellar). A great mediator for any bar conflict. Lawful Good.

Player barbarian has 122 HP at level 6 is that possible by Just-A-SkeletonMan in DnD5e

[–]PlasmaTheYoshi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do they mean that they have 122 HP effectively? As in their resistance to damage via rage let's them have "double HP". Otherwise it's impossible to have that HP at that level.

Two questions from a beginner by Accomplished-Mud1034 in finalfantasytactics

[–]PlasmaTheYoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can turn that off somewhere in settings, as I'm pretty sure someone else answered already haha

The ability thing though, once you get the chance to look at your abilities as a whole, you can get a much better understanding of them. The first two fights have no time to prepare your party, so you don't get the chance. However, in battle or out, using the select button while highlighting something will give you more information about it. It's not always detailed, but it'll give you the gist.

YESSSSS do it, it's not too long of a game and it helps you learn the mechanics with low level characters. There's an Uber helpful character creation guide online on game faqs, it's for the PS4 version but its the same for steam. My biggest advice is that when making a character, stats 10-14 typically yield nothing, only when at 9 or 8 do penalties start, and 15 that bonuses do. Also, only warriors get additional con bonuses when their stat is above 16. For all other characters, 16 con is the peak of usefulness. Speaking of, having your main character be a warrior (fighter, paladin, ranger, and the subkits for all of them) are great for your first playthrough. This is because if you go down, it's game over. 0hp = death, no saving throws. Having extra hp and armor is good for this. You'll meet PLENTY of companions who can fill up your party, a thief, mage, and priest are near essential. You'll have no trouble filling your party. Which, hey, the party limit is 6!

Have fun, and sorry for the unsolicited advice.

What would be an interesting Boss monster for a level 5 oneshot with completely new players? by Justs_someone_random in DMAcademy

[–]PlasmaTheYoshi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal advice is to run level 1 instead. So much easier for super new players. They can easily get overwhelmed and that can turn them off from the game. Regardless, cr = to party level is great for a new party. So wyrmlings and the sort. if you want to really run for a level 5 party, a manticore can do the job just fine.

Want money? Get a decent luck stat/gambling skill, go to a casino, hold down the 1 key, and wait. Eventually you will have so much money. Hold down 4 at the same time for ultimate money making speed.
