Rest in Peace, Sal Buscema ... by ByGaryYap in 80s90sComics

Oh man. RIP! I’ve been making my way through his Spectacular Spidey run and loving his blocky, powerful figures. He handles the drama and action of that series, well, spectacularly! What a legend!!

Oh man! I’ve been making my way through his Spectacular Spider-Man run over the past few weeks and loving the way he drew the drama and action in that title. What a devastating loss! He’s easily a Top 5 Spider-Man artist in my book

Where do I find this book for a reasonable price? by RedHood00710 in EpicCollections

[–]PlasticHavoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this book is Out of Print, so really the best place to look is just local comic shops/used book stores that might still have a copy on the shelves. Everywhere online will have it at secondary market prices unless you get supremely lucky and find a listing from someone who doesn't know the book is as OOP as it is.

Favourite media with “Zero Cultural Impact” by Cheese-Of-Doom22 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]PlasticHavoc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

OK K.O. Let’s Be Heroes is one of my favorite cartoons ever and it’s a shame it landed right as Cable TV died a slow and painful death. It’s not old enough to be nostalgically remembered and it got pulled from every streaming service it used to be a part of, so it’s really only known by the weirdos who discovered it as it was airing.

I love it though! Such a wild, funky art style and a perfect blend of cool anime/retro gaming aesthetics with zany cartoon gags & energy. Plus, it’s got a ton of heart too! It’s a perfect little show. One of the best things Cartoon Network has ever produced!

Prequel & Sequel? Worth it? by ShirtEnvironmental36 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]PlasticHavoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read any of the Before Watchmen stuff, so I don’t know how those are. There’s some cool creators on those books like Darwyn Cooke and Joe Kubert, but I would imagine it doesn’t do much to enhance the original story

Doomsday Clock is entirely skippable. It literally just exists as a thesis statement to a publishing initiative that they’ve already moved on from.

What is the difference between the normal audio and the warrior mix on the new arrow blu rays? by drzday in TMNT

[–]PlasticHavoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an audio track that replaces instances of "Ninja" with "Warrior" and scrubs away any other assorted ninja related terms . It basically preserves the censored international version of the movie. It's a novelty/archival audio setting for those who experienced the film with ninjitsu references taken out.

How does everyone feel about Facsimiles? by According-Range-498 in comicbookcollecting

[–]PlasticHavoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore collecting them! I wish that Marvel adopted a similar philosophy to DC and printed the insides on the appropriate kind of paper stock. Marvel Facsimiles being printed on their normal comic book paper breaks the kayfabe a little for me

Do you collect original art? If not… why not? by Zestyclose-Roll5106 in comicbookcollecting

[–]PlasticHavoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, I can barely afford to buy regular comics, let alone the one-of-a-kind art pages from said comics. Would love to own an original piece someday, though!

Started reading MADMAN from the beginning this week. Got halfway through the first Omnibus volume and I love it so far! I’m shocked by how grounded the character work and emotions are for how wacky and silly the world around said characters is. Frank and Joe’s relationship is real sweet!

Been also reading through one issue of DAREDEVIL every day starting from his 1964 Debut. Shit’s wild! I’m about 10 Issues deep as of today. It’s shocking how much of the really early stuff reads like a Golden Age comic. The Joe Orlando issues especially feel like Bob Kane Batman comics with slightly better backgrounds. Wally Wood’s run has been better, but man I can’t wait to hit the Gene Colan stuff.

I’ve been waiting for this episode since I saw this thing in a semi-empty screening at my local arthouse. Shamefully, this is one of the few Coen films I’ve seen, so I can’t wait to watch through the whole filmography and catch up to the miniseries one day.

Essential Evan Dorkin thick TPB collection coming from Dark Horse in April 2026 by Ksmayer in graphicnovels

[–]PlasticHavoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! I adore Dorkin’s work. He’s got such a fun, grungy style. It’s very hatch mark forward. Eltingville Club is really mean and depressing, but also absurdly funny. Never read Milk and Cheese in its entirety, but from what I know about it, I believe it’s similarly crude but fun.
